Okay, I'm on my laptop instead of phone so I can type a bit better.
Several of us met at the bookstore at noon to pic up extra tickets. That was my first chance to meet Sir_Boomme and be "exposed" to his Scooby Doo underoos:
We headed out to lunch at a BBQ and Beer joint, Merlin1958 had to give me a noogy:
After lunch we proceeded back to queue up at the book store. We were within they first 80 or so people. The bookstore had it well organized and the line snaked throughout the second floor and down to the first floor. All 400 were inside and cozy warm. No standing in 48 degree drizzle.
Merlin1958, Sir_Boomme and TheGunslinger41:
Same members with me added:
Fifteen minutes early they began the signing, We snaked upstairs to the third floor where King was in a room with his handlers.
Part II
SirBoomme had an original newsletter from King's youth (I'll let SB clarify the info and what King said).
Never fails when I give my camera to someone else, they get an out of focus shot.
Outside the store:
We then headed to a place called Twin Peaks. Sort of like Hooter's except the women are better looking. They had all the college football games on and the crowd was quite lively.
Fun with Sir_Boomme:
Bill and I made a friend:
The result of the evening:
Great pictures. Looks like an awesome time!
Nice work - that's how to do an event!
I'm fine with that rule - I still wish I could go to a signing/event where he would sign something else, but no luck so far. But I totally understand the need to just keep the line moving.
At the Harvard event a few years back, there were some guys - obvious resellers - who had a stack of books. They were actually offended and sort of loud when staff wouldn't let them give them to SK- and King himself disgustedly waved them off...did they honestly think being jerks about it would increase their chances?
Excellent photos. Sounds like everyone had a nice day.
Great photos... now I know what some of you guys look like... :-). Looks like you all had a fun time.
Sounds like y'll had a nice time !
