I got my tickets for this Saturday to see It in AMC Dolby Cinema format.
No way in hell I'm going opening weekend. The general public leaves much to be desired in terms of horror movie-watching etiquette.
A NEW GAME BEGINS
I was supposed to see it tomorrow night at a press screening, but that got pushed back to Wednesday morning because of the flooding in Houston.
Author of The Road to the Dark Tower, Stephen King: A Complete Exploration of His Work, Life, and Influences and The Dark Tower Companion. Co-editor with Stephen King of the anthology Flight or Fright.
I have a ticket booked for the 7th. Really looking forward to it.
I couldn't wait that long.
What's a few more weeks after years?

Good choice. I try to go before 12 for just that purpose (if I'm fortunate enough to go on a weekday, even better).
A NEW GAME BEGINS
You don't know my kind.....You don't my mind.....Dark necessities are part of my design.....
You got that right.
I saw 1408 at night (not opening night, but maybe close to it), and there were laughing kids throughout. Call me a grumpy old man, but movie theaters are for silence (except when laughing at comedies).
I hope to see It this weekend; I'm aiming for a morning showing.

I got my ticket for midnight tomorrow, so not expecting annoying teenagers. That said, the Losers (especially Richie) are reportedly hilarious throughout the film, so I'm expecting lots of laughter anyway.
Our local theaters are sold out of every show for the opening weekend. I have 6 tickets for tomorrow night with the press and I have Dbox for 4pm Friday. I am saying it now... $70+ Million opening weekend. Highest grossing September opening and Horror movie opening of all time. The buzz is more than anything in recent memory and I am including Marvel movies in this!!!

Watching all the videos of the interviews with the kids, it seems that Sophia (Bev) is the one who's most uncomfortable with all the attention. She even mentions that she's not a very social person in one of the videos. Jack Grazer (Eddie) seems to have the exact opposite personality. I could almost see him in the role of Richie instead. Although all the other kids seem to fit their roles pretty well.
I have noticed that in a lot of the videos, especially the ones from Comic-Con, Jaeden (Bill) wasn't with them. He was in a few of the videos posted above but I haven't gotten a real good feel for his personality.
I'm kinda surprised that Bill Skarsgård hasn't really done any kind of press at all. I'm assuming they are doing that for the same reason they kept him away from the kids for a lot of the shooting. To kind of keep the "mystery" of Pennywise going for as long as possible.
I remember the first time I saw Robert Englund without his "Freddy" makeup on. I thought he was kind of a goofball.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
Days later, there are SO many lines in that story that I'm still laughing out loud about, but this one takes the cake for me:
I mean, just imagine that scene for a moment... a clown franticly waving away someone and their kids as if the clown is terrified by kids... "No, no, stop!"She lays some of the blame on parents, who frequently thrust their kids into her arms without any consideration of their kids' apprehensions. "I'm trying to motion to them, 'No, no, stop!' but they keep coming at me," she says.
And "but they keep coming at me!" just slays me. I imagine this clown in full make-up in tears in a group therapy session with other clowns, kind of like AA for circus folk.
"I had the dream again last night. There are all these parents and they JUST. KEEP. COMING. AT. ME. with their kids and I cannot get them to stop! It's awful!"
