Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has officially announced that it will release on 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray director Andrés Muschietti's thriller It (2017), starring Bill Skarsgård, Javier Botet, Owen Teague, Jaeden Lieberher, and Nicholas Hamilton. The two releases will be available for purchase on January 9.
The 4K Blu-ray release of It will feature Dolby Vision HDR that dramatically expands the color palette and contrast range, and uses dynamic metadata to automatically optimize the picture for every screen — frame by frame.
Also, the 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray discs of It will feature a Dolby Atmos soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead. To experience Dolby Atmos at home, a Dolby Atmos enabled AV receiver and additional speakers are required, or a Dolby Atmos enabled sound bar.Dolby Atmos soundtracks are also fully backward compatible with traditional audio configurations and legacy home entertainment equipment.
Studio synopsis: New Line Cinema's horror thriller "IT," directed by Andrés Muschietti ("Mama"), is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name, which has been terrifying readers for decades. When children begin to disappear in the town of Derry, Maine, a group of young kids are faced with their biggest fears when they square off against an evil clown named Pennywise, whose history of murder and violence dates back for centuries. "IT" stars Bill Skarsgård ("Allegiant," TV's "Hemlock Grove") as the story's central villain, Pennywise. An ensemble of young actors also star in the film, including Jaeden Lieberher ("Midnight Special"), Jeremy Ray Taylor ("Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip"), Sophia Lillis ("37"), Finn Wolfhard (TV's "Stranger Things"), Wyatt Oleff ("Guardians of the Galaxy"), Chosen Jacobs (upcoming "Cops and Robbers"), Jack Dylan Grazer ("Tales of Halloween") and Nicholas Hamilton ("Captain Fantastic").
Muschietti is directing "IT" from a screenplay adapted by Chase Palmer & Cary Fukunaga and Gary Dauberman. Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Seth Grahame-Smith, David Katzenberg and Barbara Muschietti are producing, with Marty P. Ewing, Doug Davison and Jon Silk serving as executive producers.
The behind-the-scenes creative team includes director of photography Chung-Hoon Chung ("Me and Earl and the Dying Girl"), production designer Claude Paré ("Rise of the Planet of the Apes"), editor Jason Ballantine ("The Great Gatsby"), and costume designer Janie Bryant (TV's "Mad Men").

Isn’t “get it to market before Christmas” the golden rule for these things? I’m amazed it’s coming in January.

Pennywise and the Losers Club can take a hike. The first Avengers: Infinity War trailer is now the most-watched trailer in history with 230 million views in 24 hours. Stephen King's IT held the record since last year with 197 million, but it's time for Richie, Bill, Beverly, and the rest to go float somewhere.
The children of Derry, Maine never stood a chance against Thanos and the biggest Marvel team-up of all time. Once the numbers were crunched, Marvel Studios took the time to thank everyone who helped them break the record.
Using data from social media insight company, Fizzology, The Hollywood Reporter broke down the five most talked about moments online. They are as follows:
Captain America's Beard (20,474 mentions)
Spidey sense (6,100 mentions)
Guardians at the end of the trailer (5,497 mentions)
Get this man a shield (2,180 mentions)
Group together running at end (2,108 mentions)
The preview also made the list of "first trailers for a movie with the most mentions within the first seven hours":
Avengers: Infinity War (1,147,438)
Star Wars: The Last Jedi (784,360)
Fifty Shades of Grey (503,392)
Captain America: Civil War (426,015)
Black Panther (353,410)
You'll notice four of the five movies on that list are Disney-owned. The company knows how to roll out a trailer in the most effective way possible. We know what you're thinking and the answer is no. Cap's beard was not added in post-production. He's not Superman, after all. Josh Brolin's chin crags were, though. Well, probably.

This is one of the stupidest YouTube movie videos I've ever watched half of. These are just simple and minor continuity errors. Every movie has them, and it usually no big deal at all unless somehow it affects the plot in an obvious manner. These types of things are only interesting if they drive plot point discussions, or identify gaps in logic, etc.
I wasn't even a huge fan of the movie (though I thought it was pretty good), but even I think its extremely disingenuous to tag such minor nits under a "Movie Fail" banner.
Some people have too much time on their hands. That being said, they did catch quite a few minor things.

That's funny because I just watched Split with my wife and daughter over the weekend. I was the only one that understood the reference at the end.
Unbreakable was the very first movie my wife and I watched on blu-ray. My wife doesn't remember watching it and my daughter was too young at the time.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
South Park referenced It this week.
