very cool indeed, thanks for sharing!
Yep, thats a cool one...watched it for a looong time. Glad it ended up in a good place
Thank you all for the positive comments.
Not many books that King inscribed and signed by other authors.
To answer your question Antoni, the book will be included in the complete set that is for sale. However I believe it is relatively safe as the chances of moving a complete collection are remote. Nonetheless it is out there, I am in no rush and only time will tell.
I have certainly not fallen out of love with collecting King, far from it. The only change is that I have become addicted with collecting Tolkien and thereby the other has been pushed a little into the background. I have a tendency to change direction very quickly, it could be construed as a weakness but I prefer to look on it as an opportunity to try something new.
I have a feeling that King will be with me for many years to come. Life would not be the same without the participation in
The Dark Tower!
I've just moved the posts to the "Random comments..." thread. I think we now need more pics from you, Alec.

Some new additions to Alec's collection. Firstly the heavily discussed (on a separate thread) Special Limited copy of 'The Shining'...
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
Some of you may have seen this previously in a another members collection thread. It now resides in Alec's happy hands...

And finally, keeping the trend of all things Gunslinger signed...
A nice match with a very rare proof.
Great new editions Alec! I look forward to seeing them up close and personal.

For some reason I kind of thought that the 217 were black, even though some pictures were leading to blue...

Lovely book(s) Alec. Congratulations!
The signature on that Gunslinger is gorgeous.
Nice adds, Alec!

Thank you Simon, as always good to catch up this afternoon.
I hope the “Room 217” images give a better indication of this book, which was somewhat maligned when it first appeared. It is extremely difficult to give a true indication of how luxurious the colour contrast makes the volume seem.
Thank you all for the generous comments.
I gather you like The Gunslinger Kris?
Yes Kris, the book is signed by King with the two page illustration by Whelan.
Fantastic stuff Alec. Just Fantastic.

Thank you.
The illustration is one of six I believe that Michael Whelan produced in the Signed Limited and 1st Editions.
More amazing collectible goodness!
