This book has been seen before, but Alec recently obtained a much nicer dust jacket to replace the poor condition one it originally came with.

and finally a limited foreign edition. 'Angst' is the German limited edition of 'Bare Bones' this is 202/300 and like ES and Nebel it is produced by EP (Edition Phantasia)

Alec has just obtained this Advance Proof of Sleeping Beauties. I think a cover shot has been posted before, but this is the first time I think, more detailed images have been posted.
It would seem that the large publishers are really stepping up their game with the production quality of their proofs as this is an absolute beauty! It is 718 pages thick and has French Flaps with exquisite artwork printed on the inner side. Limitation count is not stated but this is #37. If this is the quality of the proof, I cannot wait to see what CD does for the Signed Limited - it's going to be HUGE!

I do have the same version !
I believe that it was because of the black background making it difficult to see the difference with the inner flap, knowing that the book is quite thick and I didn't want to open it widely for not damaging the spine...

With respect to the tray case shown with the Salem's Lot. I have obtained all similar tray cases from Very Fine Books. They are by no means cheap, however the quality is superb and well worth it to house a special edition.
If the book was ever sold I think it fair to say that a certain percentage of the tray case cost would be recovered, making the initial outlay easier to accept.

Some of you may have seen RF's recent posts on his rebound Different Season's. Those that were paying close attention would have noted that there were 3 version of this book that got the rebind treatment, here is the second of those.
I'm hoping to pay Alec another visit next month so I'll get to see this wonderful creation in its full glory.
