Just as an FYI, I did not like IT. I don't think there's a gray area with that one.

    But yes, READ HP!!!!

I lost my copy of Foucault's Pendulum in Amsterdam 15 years ago, I wasn't getting on too well with it though...perhaps that level of reading doesn't suit Amsterdam mode
I have In The Name Of The Rose too which I've yet to read - do you recommend that too, Jean?

oh yes, but they are very different. I like Foucault's more, but Rose is a very good book, too. Then, of course, a lot depends on translation. There's a lot of humor in Foucault's, which may be lost if the translator is not bold enough. We here are happy to have a superb Eco translator.

Perhaps I should give Foucault's another try...a gap of 15 years is time enough for my literary tastes to have changed

Still stuck on that book about the nativity story's historical roots, halfway through The End of the Alphabet, by C.S. Richardson, and have reached the third chapter of my reread of The Bell Jar. I read one or two pages of the prologue to Prey before I stopped.

So basically the only book I've read this year is 'Salem's Lot, and that's because I only had fourteen pages left by the end of last year.

    Blah.

    Well, who knows... O.o

I guess I want to read Duma Key by Stephen King and I have Bridge to Terabithia that I've been meaning to read. I'd like to read as many books on architecture as possible. Also, finally reading Four Seasons would be nice too.

Ah yes, I'd like to read some classics like Catcher in the Rye and Foucalt's Pendulum and Todos los Fuegos el Fuego by Cortazar. And finally, Don Quixote by Cervantes.
