Very nice additions! I remember reading Flowers for Algernon in high school. I also grabbed the Jim Thompson set, not matching unfortunately.

Yeah, ALGERNON is a sentimental favorite of mine. I re-read it upon getting this new edition, and appreciated the subtext of the book a lot more than I did when I was a kid back in school.

I hope this first set of Thompson book is the first set of several to come; my understanding is that it is, contingent, of course, upon how this first set sold. As I recall, it seemed to sell out fairly quickly.

I haven't read the Strand chapbook yet, so am afraid I can't say...but knowing Strand, it's almost certainly a good one.

Interestingly (and disappointingly), the cover is not textured as it appears...it's just a flat image. Still a great book and a great production, but it was a bit of a letdown when I received it.

Don't know if you caught it, but at the start of this list -- on page 2 -- I show my recently acquired copy of Bradbury's DARK CARNIVAL...that was a bit of a minor Holy Grail for me...very excited to finally have that one!

I have. Having read just about everything Lansdale's written, I would categorize this among his lesser works...relatively predictable and slight, it's not particularly original and is missing that richness of character that his better works have.

    Well that's unfortunate...
Was just hoping for a good fun crime novel. Thanks for the input though, guess I'll skip it.

    Richard Matheson rocks.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.
