I haven't been on the receiving end of the editorial process yet, but I do know my artist (Darek Kocurek) and my artwork is done!
Speaking of artwork, Shannon I'm thinking IMC 2014 illustrations would be phenomenal in COLOR. Darek sent me both versions, and the B/W doesn't even come close to the color one ... the color realy captures the mood and the details. So I'm thinking 10-page color insert, one illustration per page, 20 illustrations for 20 stories.

I thought I was going to have a break after finishing up the last project a few weeks ago... but instead, they switch me right over to a hot new high profile test chip that has a an outrageous design schedule.
good news is that "the powers that be" have promoted me to a management position and given me a bonus + 11.5% raise... (which being hourly and working 80 hours a week with time and a half over 40... is really adding up quickly)
bad news is... no time to play.... good news is... saving lots of money since no time to spend it... and should be able to pay off the 90 grand still owed on my house by the end of this year.
bad news is... never in that house.
I have a short story I wrote originally for the Stephen King UK "Under the Dome" competition back in 2009 I'd like to submit as I like the "spirit" of the piece. It's an original piece and never published, though I did once release it on the Kindle for free but it's no longer available there. I don't think this counts as being published - as it was free and now deleted. I recently rewrote a lot of it. Could I submit this one or would that be against rules? thanks in advance.
You'll have to wait for the "call for submissions" for the 2015 book (assuming there is one). I can't answer your question about whether your re-written Kindle story is kosher or not; Shannon will have to address that.
Ah ok Divemaster, I misread the dates in the first post and thought submissions were still open. I'll submit for 2015 if there is one. I've got loads of short stories I could submit, I was just thinking of that one in particular. Thanks again for your reply.

Assuming that sales for In Mint Condition: 2014 don't tank, submissions for In Mint Condition: 2015 (the final part of the trilogy) will open near the end of the year. Some tips:
1) Ensure it has NOTHING to do with Stephen King, Under the Dome, etc. Copyrights, image likenesses, etc. are a pain in the butt.
2) Make sure it is INTERESTING. I can't stress this enough. No matter how great the writing is, unless the story itself is interesting, we'll pass.
