How does one person/business end up with so many? Certainly they couldn't be a reseller for Titan Books or they wouldn't be auctioning these.
I wondered the same thing especially since they are sequential numbers. I understand those who got multiple by using multiple IDs/names/addresses however what option would one use to get that many with the protocol established by Forbidden Planet?

I didn't think Forbidden Planet had any limitations. So if you ordered 10, and they pulled 10 copies out of a box where they were stacked in sequential order you would get 10 sequential books.

I seem to recall that they did have a limit. Perhaps I was stupid, otherwise I would have ordered 25 S/L'd copies (the lettered editions were sold out by the time I was aware).

I ordered a lot (most of them already sold through my website) but I don't have the numbers yet. At first I ordered near 24 copies but cancelled two shipments, so I'm getting 13 copies at the end. I'll let you know which numbers once I receive 'em.
    Wanted list:

There was something on the website about ordering one per customer, and it wouldn't give me an option to put in 2, 5 or 50. I did however click the "Submit" button, wasn't sure if my order when through, so I went back and did it again. I later received a phone call asking if I meant to buy 2. I said sure! Consequently, I will have one for sale *hopefully* this week...

They imposed the limit a few hours after it went up for sale. At first you could order as many as you wanted without the limit.

I WAS LATE to the party...barely snagged one from the US site for myself...but members here and Betts customers have offered me a couple dozen which I have committed to buying as I have taken almost 24 preorders.

Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand
