Price does concern me also. I would not pay anything for one. The artwork is not the best but is growing on me, but what will make this release is the storyboards. I was glad when Pete did not make them available to the normal edition. I know he was thinking about it. I wonder if these extras will be bound in the back of the book or as a separate softback or hardback booklet in the tray case.
Alan, come on... That's he most ridiculous thing I have read since I been back mate... Price doesn't matter??? Lol and your not a serious collector if you won't pay any price for a King signed book? Wow... My collection is going for sale. Might as well.... I'm no collector.

Again... More ridiculous banter. I spend EVERY spare cent I have and then some on King books and art. AS DO many others here. Have you heard the story about the person that gives $200 to a homeless person that is in need but is rich and then the person who gives the homeless perso $20... BUT it's all he had left? Let that sink in my good man for a bit... This site is full of what you call "serious collectors".

Perhaps the issue lies in the use of the word "serious". I like to think that I am a serious collector, though I have not yet spent more than $100 on any one item. In my world though, $100 is a big deal. It is a large % of my weekly income.
I sometimes look at it like I'm back in the Army. My collection might make me equal to a Corporal, while someone like Gerald would be a Four Star General. It's not a matter of heart or passion or intent, as I'm sure we all do the best by our collections as we can. Some of us just aren't in a position to spend $1000's.
Price and passion are two different things.
Unless you are in the Red-light district....
"Thanks, but no, it isn't a cowboy hat. It's a fedora. And yes, Indianna Jones is still socially relevant."
To get this thread back on track, I made my first King purchase of 2016 at PS Publishing earlier this morning. Cost close to $10,000.
There are collectors, serious collectors and super collectors in my opinion. I would say there were at LEAST 5 super collectors in the world and lots of serious collectors. If you have a bookcase full of Stephen King paperbacks you're a collector.
My assumption would be that $10k includes both the Deluxe Skeleton Crew and pre-order of 'Salem's...
No links on PS's website?
Believe it or not, we have a thread about serious collectors:
What makes someone a serious collector?
I think I have enough of "Thinner".
You make serious collecting look so E-Z!
"...that Siren which called and sang and promised so much and gave, after all, so little." ~ Ray Bradbury
There are not many King items, proofs, signed limiteds, lettereds etc, I do not have (except for the items Gerald posts!!-so many never seen before items!!...), but the ones I do want are now very expensive and are tougher to find. I would consider the collection very "serious". Many, many years have gone in the making. I've been making many deals outside of Ebay (of course), that have added to the collection nicely.
Of course, there is MORE I want so the search goes on....
Money is always a thought however.
Serious is always the effort and passion , never the money.
Serious is a difficult term , but Somebody who stands days in the rain in front of a well know fish restaurant waiting to get a paperback signed is (imho) way more "serious" then somebody who just buys books , all off them.
Once I read - the trick is, to be born at the right place at the right time, if you messed that up everything else gets very very annoying.
What I want to say is, that sometimes you just don't have the choice to define how many founds you have,
BUT this definitely does not take the chance from you to be serious collector.
Taking something serious has no monetary aspect at all.
Get on thread.
