The more I look at it the more I like it.

    It's Impressionistic Horror.

I agree. I liked it so much when I got the books, I ordered another copy.

Personally, I'm with Kris on the art (at least what I have seen of it so far). Since I ordered through CD, imagine it will be awhile before I get my copy.

I can see that a person either likes it or not.

Here's other stuff he's done. It's very similar in style.

I quite like the art style ... in small doses. Too much of it and I think it loses its impact.

Very nice set, though. I passed on it as I've been trying get more focused on what I collect, and this series has fallen off my list. They are great editions, though.

His style would have been perfect for the CD or PS 'Salem's Lot editions, especially if limited to just the title page and part openers; no interior art beyond that. One of the strengths of SL is the mood and atmosphere of story and the part opener titles provide themes along those lines that could yield some interesting artistic interpretation. Another strength of SL is the limiting of the antagonist's time on stage. In other words, less is more and the same would be true with that approach to the art.

Have a look for yourself. (The feel of the leather is much softer with this edition. A little like chamois)

They look brilliant - Nightshift is softer, I think I remember Pete telling me something about the leather - that they didn't like the original and had it redone or something like that. Brilliant - I'm expecting mine soon.

    Well THAT'S an interesting Photo!

    Care to comment Mr RT?
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I think the question is why you used the penguin and pig in the photo since you've positioned yourself as a Suntup hater.

It is passing strange for you to use Suntup swag in your photo after disparaging Suntup Editions.

So deluxe means lettered only right? Damn. I really like what they did with the Christine book. I would love a Needful things but I just can't afford the entry fee to the deluxe versions. Oh well.

Just a bit strange. Goes out of his way to be an asshole to Paul and slam his brand and then posts that picture with the Pig / Penguin. So either he ate his words and secured copies of number and letter Misery OR bought the figurines on line and this is his subtle jab YET again at a well respected member and friend to many here. For the life of me... I cannot figure it out. I really can't.

Deluxe means particularly elegant and luxurious.

The numbered is deluxe in comparison to the trade edition. The lettered is deluxe in comparison with lesser editions.

Unless the book is marketed as an Edition Deluxe the correct appellation is the name attributed by the publisher. In this case it would be Lettered Edition. It is also a deluxe edition.

    Got you.
Like I said, I really liked their version of Christine. If they came out with a S\L that was not as much as their lettered versions, I would for sure be into that. But they don't seem to be doing that. I can't even seem to find most of them on their site or even "the collectors" site. I only see Thinner and Skeleton Crew and Carrie listed. But that is a very nice collection to have.
