It's the only Chuck book not available in hardcover so I'll get it just for that. Not sure about the whole "remix" thing though.

I'm not sure about the remix, but I'll pick up a copy and read it eventually.
In other news, Chuck Palahniuk's new book, DAMNED, has been released. Here's my inscribed copy. He included some extras in the form of postcards, hot pepper seeds, and even Atomic Fire Ball candies.
Looking forward to reading it.
So cool, Patrick! I just love Chuck and his awesomeness. ^_^
But that being said, I'm woefully behind on his books. Need to really get on that.
I am Daenerys Stormborn and I will take what is mine. With fire and blood.
That's awesome Patrick! Now I'm extra bummed I didn't get it

Wow, the release sure came around quick. Is this the one with the girl that goes to Hell?
A NEW GAME BEGINS
Yup, the one he likened to The Shawshank Redemption.
Lucky Patrick! So jealous.
A true firewasp ninja would never wear such a ridiculous sweater.
There's logic in nonsense.
Give me all the bacon and eggs you have.
Thanks, guys... whoever you are under those costumes.

Great book Patrick! Chuck is cool.
Please let me know if the book is good. His audiobooks are usually cheap though.
So did everyone get their copies of the Invisible Monsters Remix? The novel has finally been released in hardcover, and has been restructured as per Chuck's original intent, and contains new chapters and an introduction. Apparently, unless I'm mistaken, it can be read traditionally, page by page, or flipping through it, following the directions after each chapter on where to go next in the book.
No, I still need to pick up my copy. Did you get it yet Pablo?
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
I wanted to get a signed copy but forgot to get my order in before the deadline so it'll probably be awhile before I get it. Let me know how it is. I'm curious how different from the original it'll be.
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Apparently it's the same, but the chapters have been all mixed up and now after each chapter it says "Please turn to Chapter X". So you have to leaf through the book, since there's no table of contents. And, apparently, some chapters aren't linked this way! So, perhaps, you can read it in a linear fashion as well...
Oh, that's interesting. I thought he added in some text as well, no?
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
The original edition has 32 chapters, and this has 42. But I don't know if that's ten new chapters, or maybe less and some were split up.
I'm having a hard time getting through Damned, I used to love Chuck but haven't finished any of them since the audio of Rant. Does it get better after page 50 or so?

When Chuck was in Los Angeles recently for his small tour for the new Invisible Monsters Remix, I had the pleasure of taking him out to dinner. And while gnawing on some steak (...I was. Chuck had the salmon), we got to talking about his next book. And lo and behold... the next novel will be Chuck's first sequel!
Chuck told me that even the title for the book is in flux right now. During our dinner conversation it was to be called Doomsday. Now it might be titled Doomed. Which one do you like better?
Believe it or not, this book might drop as early as this Fall! It's pretty much in its final editing stages. But these things have a way of changing last minute, so no promises.
Till then, let's hear your thoughts on this. For years, people have clamoured for the much rumored sequel to Rant, yet haven't gotten it yet. So when Chuck began telling fans that Damned too, would be part of its own trilogy, I think we were all a little skeptical. But alas, the Chuckster is delivering very quickly on this one. Are you pumped?
You're not your fucking khakis. That is all.

I recently picked up a really nice 1st/1st Fight Club (on the left, both pics) to match my previous 1st/4th
I normally post in my collection thread but I thought it's appropriate share here as well.

Publishers Marketplace dropped the news earlier this month that Chuck Palahniuk sold the rights to his next two books, as well as signed a deal in the wake of the Haunted movie adaptation finally getting its greenlight. In other words, this is a very good time to be a fan of Chuck Palahniuk.
So I figured it was high time we do our own "State of the Union" here at The Cult with a summary of what's in the store for fans of Chuck.
Doomed (Oct 8, 2013): Chuck's next novel is a sequel to his 2012 novel Damned. Here's the description Chuck gave me:
The next novel will follow Madison back to earth as a ghost, doomed to haunting her parents for a year. In flashback we see her earlier childhood, including the death of the kitten whose dead body subsequently clogged the plumbing of the Beverly-Wilshire Hotel. That death is not Madison's doing, but another death is. Whether it's murder or self-defense, as a ten-year-old Madison kills someone horrifically, and that's the most-likely reason why she was damned in the first place. We also begin to recognize a centuries-long conspiracy engineered to train and test Maddy for her role as the savior of all spiritual beings.
Nope, nothing subtle, here.
Oh, I forgot to mention it but the world ends in this next book.
October 8th may seem way off, but the good folks at Amazon already have the book listed for pre-order.
Beautiful You (October, 2014): Next year we get Beautiful You. The Publishers Marketplace articled listed it as a book "focusing on the apocalyptic marketing possibilities of feminine pleasure." Then in a recent email, Chuck gave me his own personal description of it:
It's a comic/erotic thriller, a mash-up of 'mommy porn' and chick lit such as Sex and the City, and fantasy lit like Clan of the Cave Bear. Imagine if Ira Levin had a baby with Jean Auel.
It's safe to say I am flipping out over this book. Chuck has promised to reveal more on this one soon, so stay tuned.
Make Something Up (October, 2015): Yep, Chuck's prolific style of writing has given us a telescope to see two years in advance. And so in October 2015, we get Make Something Up, a new collection of short stories, many of which have previously appeared in Playboy.
Stay tuned as we'll post more info (and maybe even a cover image for Doomed still) as we get them.

No author can shock readers quite like bestselling author Chuck Palahniuk ("Fight Club," "Choke," "Damned"), whose meditations on the darkest depths of the American ego have been known to induce fainting fits in his audiences. Palahniuk channels both Stephen King and John Cheever in this singularly sinister and hilarious short story, straight from the passive-aggressive front lines of modern marriage, where a wife's frustration, along with the family cat, become weapons of mass destruction.
Rachel married Ted because he was uncomplicated and loyal. But he was also devoted to his wretched house (done up in black granite, black appliances, even black dishware) and his first love, an old, flatulent cat named Belinda Carlisle. Once Rachel becomes pregnant, Ted reluctantly agrees to move and give up the cat. But the house doesn't sell, and Belinda Carlisle still haunts their home: every day the creature becomes fatter and more malodorous. When the house burns to the ground in a freak conflagration and the couple's daughter, April, is born blind soon thereafter, the marriage is never the same again. Only on a business trip three years later does Rachel begin to reckon with the damage.
In an Orlando motel room far from Ted and April, Rachel wonders: Is her simple-minded husband more vindictive and manipulative than even Rachel could have imagined? How far will she go to keep the upper hand—a bit of emotional and physical torture, perhaps? Will she win the battle, only to lose so much else?
If all is fair in love and war, there are few contemporary writers better equipped than Palahniuk to travel the extremes, right to the chilling intersection of "I do" and "I'm damned."

I didn't think this was released in HB first. I thought the Trade Paperback was first.
