Bev mentioned receiving ebook ARCs and then receiving physical ARCs. He read the ebook version and so wouldn't necessarily need to read the physical version. He also mentioned that the ebook ARC is probably the future of publishers providing review copies. The cost of production for an ebook is obviously less than for a printed version.

Anyone heard news of a Cemetery Dance edition of City of Mirrors yet? I have the other two already.

FYI that we'll have a consigned ARC of CITY OF MIRRORS posting on eBay this evening: unread, a touch of trace wear to edges and corners, publisher letter laid in. It's the first that I've physically held, and is a nice, solid copy.

Random House has been very tight with sharing the text files on this particular series, and on the previous two books we didn't receive the final files until after the trade edition was published, so we're waiting a while longer before the official announcement. We do have galleys from Random House, so our cover artist is hard at work on the cover and our interior artist will be delivering 12 to 15 pieces of B&W art this time, a few more than the previous book.

Thanks for that Brian. This one will be popular no doubt.

Now, can you share with us the chances of some slipcases for them being produced???

    Brian,
I'm sorry if I missed a previous posting... Who will be the artist(s) for this finale?

Yeah, we have a pretty cool idea for a slipcase, but we'll wait to offer it until the third book is done!

I've just been told that Goldsboro are doing a signed UK limited only 500 copies - not one of my usual threads so apologies if this is already been discussed.

    Here
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

I have The Twelve but missed out on The Passage - trying to decide if I want to shell out 50-60 bucks for it. Their "Special" editions are just first printings with a numbered limitation page. Nothing really special...

Their edition of the passage came with a slipcase. Most of the limiteds out there were made for waterstones. If you see one for $50-$60, get it. That's a great price.
