Ah, I was not aware of that. Well, I'm pretty sure he was on the original TOC for Borderlands 5, and the numbered of that one went for $75.00, same as Joyland. Then again, Borderlands 5 was another short story collection, whereas Joyland is a novel. Still, Borderlands 5 did come with a slipcase and was released 10 years ago. Hard to tell which would be the better value...
"Smile... It is a fine day..."
He definitely was on the original TOC of Borderlands 5. I was one of the last ones added to the book and King was already in it by then.

So it was you they brought to sellout the run?

According to the Hard Case Crime facebook page: "They were first announced on a Stephen King fan site, then (within a few hours of that) on Stephen King's own site and the Hard Case Crime website and TItan Books' site. Then a mailing went out to the Hard Case Crime mailing list." Is this the site they are talking about? How did biomieg hear about this so fast? Enquiring minds want to know.
I think Lilja’s Library was the fan site mentioned.
Yes, Lilja tweeted and posted early in the morning that he had an exclusive.

I asked about specific numbers when I called to see if they had lettered editions left yesterday (after they sold out but before you could tell that was the case from looking at the site). They Woman I talked to said they will have what is sent to them but they have no way of knowing what numbers those will be. I take that as a no in the requesting a specific number, but we might want to check back the first week of June, my feeling is it will still be a no go then to.

We (cit74) broke it first in the USA, and the fact that 2/3 of the lettered editions, and 2/3 of the S/L editions were allocated to the USA.
Show me one post prior to cit74's post (time stamped) with the "secret" USA ordering link.....worldwide...show me...perhaps it exists, and I would love to see it, but cit74 broke the news USA....
So now that all of the commotion has died down, let me se if I understand this correctly.....
Titan Books (based in the UK) is the publisher of these three editions (I assume in some kind of joint venture with Hard Case Crime).
The books were sold by Forbidden Planet in the UK, and NSFS (National Subscription Fulfillment Services) in the US.
Do I have this right?
On a side-note, I was just on the NSFS site...turns out they are 7.3 miles from my house.

From what I have read, the only difference between the $200 lettered and $75 numbered is the traycase......(and of course the lettered is lettered A-Z, and the numbered is numbered 1-724).
Right?
If it is...at $125, that is one expensive traycase.
Likewise, the only difference between the $75 numbered and $40 standard is the signature sheet?
Also right?
If it is...at $35, that is a hell of a bargain for a King signature!
Brian or Tomas, one of you guys have got to do a slipcase for the numbered and standard.

I would love to, I think it's going to be a good looking book in need of a slipcase!
Not to get too "inside baseball" on everyone, but I basically need to be ordering 300 to 400 units on a slipcase run to get the per unit price low enough to make it work for most collectors. So first we have to figure out if we can reach the 2,000 or so people who have bought (or will buy) those editions... AND then the bigger question will be whether enough of them will be interested to make all of the math work out. But we are looking into the possibilities!
Brian
Edited to add: And this is definitely one of those editions where if anyone did decide to offer a slipcase, there probably wouldn't be much room in the marketplace for multiple slipcases!

Yup - agree on all points there Tippy...From what I have read, the only difference between the $200 lettered and $75 numbered is the traycase......(and of course the lettered is lettered A-Z, and the numbered is numbered 1-724).

Brian...you guys have got to do a slipcase for the numbered and standard.
What are dimensions of book? What inner size should slipcase be I guess I'm wondering for a perfect fit a room for a brodart if necessary I guess.
So would you guys consider these three books "UK editions" ?
As a rule, I do not collect UK editions, unless they are signed by King.
My quandary is the "$40 Standard Limited Edition"....do I buy one or not?
I guess I am not sure what to do because the book appears to be a joint venture with Hard Case, and also because there is no hardcover 1st edition in the US.

It will bug you like a buzzing in the back of your mind until you buy it, so just commit mentally to buying it and then pick your time.....
Ok now break down the $1400 difference between the lettered and numbered dark man books...that $125 tray case seems like a bargain
I know, I know - there's a lot of production value difference between the two, just saying (plus the original artwork in the dark man lettered, etc.)
I dunno.....
When PS Publishing did The Colorado Kid, I ordered a Potter S/N (you were only allowed to buy ONE) and all three artist-only signed editions. I ended up selling off the artist-only signed editions, and then buying the other two King-signed editions (Miller and Chadbourne) on ebay.
I did not want to start down the path of collecting non-King-signed UK editions......my shelves cannot handle it.
Here is my UK shelf from my collection thread. The picture is a few years old...I have added a UK SL UTD, and a UK SL Regulators/Desperation, but that is it.
