They are pretty good. I think they'd be better off without the Plant comparison. The singer is reminiscent of Led Zeppelin, but that isn't their only strength. I suspect they'll tire of that comparison. They are a band of brothers except for the drummer. They ought to play that up.

It's like Robert Plant joined The Georgia Satellites.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
These young guy’s are getting a lot of attention. There hometown is about 40 miles northwest of my home, there band name is a older lady’s (80’s) name Gretna, sound’s better without the “n” they held a birthday party for her on there new album release. I like there music and wish the best for them.
I got my tix to see Air Supply Friday night.
Yes...you read that right...Air Supply. I'm a sucker for good vocal harmony.
I wonder if I'll get my ass kicked wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt at an Air Supply concert.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
It's officially happening! I'm probably going.
Sounds interesting. Looking forward to the line-up.

Coming August 16-18, 2019, this pan-generational music, culture, and community event will be held at BWCA just 90 minutes from New York City. These three days of memorable experiences will include live performances from prominent and emerging artists spanning multiple genres and decades, and TED-style talks from leading futurists and retro-tech experts. Festival goers will also be able to visit the Museum at Bethel Woods, which tells the story of the 1960s through immersive media, interactive engagements, and artifacts from the 1969 festival, as well as experience the special 2019 exhibit We Are Golden: Reflections on the 50th Anniversary of the Woodstock Festival and Aspirations for an Aquarian Future.
“We are thrilled to partner with Live Nation and INVNT to produce Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival,” said Darlene Fedun, CEO, BWCA. “Fifty years ago, people gathered peacefully on our site inspired to change the world through music. As the stewards of this historic site, we remain committed to preserving this rich history and spirit, and to educating and inspiring new generations to contribute positively to the world through music, culture, and community.”
The three-day festival will utilize BWCAs’ state-of-the-art venues and facilities. Entertainment villages and a number of bespoke performance areas will be specially created for the occasion. Full details of the event line-up, ticketing, non-musical experiences, and brand activity will be released soon.

Definitely interesting. It's also the 25th anniversary of the 1994 festival which I almost went to but was too young.
Now I realize just how old I am!

Jean-Michel Jarre is one of my all-time favorite musicians, some of you might've seen me post his stuff here and there. And now we have this cool thing:
https://completemusicupdate.com/arti...ound-identity/
Despite the commercialism, the music is actually really good:HSBC has hired Jean-Michel Jarre to create its new “sound identity”. Because once you reach a certain level of corporate music making, “jingle” just doesn’t sound right.
Seven different versions of new composition ‘Together We Thrive’ will be used by the bank. It has been “created to be relevant to the 66 markets in which HSBC operates by working across different languages and cultures”.
If you phone up HSBC today you can hear it while you’re on hold. So that’s something to do. It’ll also start appearing in adverts, in branches, in HSBC’s app, on its ATMs and at its offices around the world. So if you engage with HSBC a lot, you’d better prepare yourself to start getting very tired indeed of this new track.
“This is the first time that I have worked with a brand on a project like this but I really connected with HSBC’s deep focus on the notion of thriving”, says Jarre. “My music has always been about the future and in order to thrive in the 21st century, I truly believe we need to focus on the environment, education and technology. Once I understood their value to the HSBC brand, suddenly it seemed that we were speaking the same language”.
Christ. And here’s HSBC Global Head Of Brand Andrea Newman: “Sound is an increasingly important part of brand building in a world where our audiences are busy and distracted. Having a distinctive sound which works alongside our visual branding and logo means we can be easily recognised wherever and however our customers interact with us. We are delighted to have partnered with Jean-Michel Jarre who has created a sound identity which will work across the many countries and cultures in which we operate”.
Despite all this probably making you feel like you need a bloody good wash, ‘sonic branding’ is actually really interesting. Have a listen to this episode of the excellent 20,000Hz podcast on the subject.
New Tool album "should be out mid-April," per Danny Carey:
It also seems there was a listening party for the new album last Friday:

...this guy was there and supposedly liked it but I can't find his original message saying so:

...which (supposedly) said:
...and they added flesh to the weird skeleton guy on their website that moves around, which has fans all riled up.Still recovering from last nights hang in Hollywood at the loft.
All I can say is I heard something from start to finish, that a number of us have been waiting to hear for over 10 years now. I can confirm it is worth every bit of the wait. The main question is are we worthy of it?

This isn't the usual genre of music that I listen to but I'm a sucker for some sad songs. This is amazing.
My wife was listening to it over the weekend and I got it stuck in my head. When I searched for it I thought it was Adele. Reading the comments in the video, I'm not the only one.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?
You old softie!!!
But I know what you mean.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.
I don't expect anyone to join me in this, but lately I have been obsessed with this song (Waverley Steps by Fish):
Just fucking great.

I'd forgotten about this video, then came across a GIF from it yesterday, looked it up, and now I'm obsessed with it. I can't say I enjoy the music in the traditional sense of the word, but it goes with the video, as they both are goofy as hell.

Primus is one of my favorites bands, still love them!
