This one was another fantastic read. Of course, these days most people associate with the film when they think of the name Cujo. Even though they changed the ending I think the film is brilliant.

I need to reread it, too. So far gave it a 4. I think it was good - maybe very good, a 4 plus; but still not among the best

I hate to vote it a "3" b/c Cujo is not an "average" book! But it falls one level below The Dead Zone and Firestarter (for example) and is not in the rareified air of The Stand and 'Salem's Lot.

Average for me. And while I'd like to explain why, some times it's just arbitrary.

4! Compared to an average Stephen King title, it would be a 3(!), but compared to other books, it is a 4! Enjoyable.

Default Another one in the "Never Read" pile...

I've always shied away from this one and Christine... I don't know exaclty why. I just don't feel compelled to read about a killer dog OR a killer car. Anyone out there feel like I am truly missing out? If so, let me know! There is a lot of King that I have read and reread, but there is also a lot that I feel I need to get to before either of those (Dark Tower, I am looking straight at you...)

Read Christine! Sure, it's about a killer car...but it's also about high school, and friendship, and being in love, and having a crush that is not returned. It's about loyalty, and being seduced by evil because one is feeling like an outcast. Cujo, while good, doesn't speak to me like Christine did.

I feel like you are truly missing out skipping either of those, but depending on what else you have not read, I would probably not recommend either one over some of his others.

I think this may have been better (for me) if there had been more characters. That's the best explanation I can give. I just kept thinking that through the last quarter of the book.
All that's left of what we were is what we have become.

But it's such an incidental conflict. I'm not sure how more characters would have worked. Doesn't make sense to me.

The poll has closed. Cujo has earned a FAS (final average score) of 3.967741935 or 79.35%, placing 5th (last) in this bracket. It will not be moving on to Round 2.
