Nope, the "packages" are group changes and can't be done individually so its all included or nothing

Its really the only way to do it or I will have a different group for every person and they drive too many modifications on the site to make that feasible.

is the individual member title change for $1000 permanent? I'm a little confused because in the gold membership it says 'for life', while in the individual part it says 'one time'.

The $1000 individual one stays until you either want to pay to have it changed to something else, or set it back to the board default (those fun titles we have now)

The gold member ship will allow the member to do it at will--from their own member control panel.
