Mine is one of the Knowing Darkness pieces. I'll have to dig it out and get a picture.
Huge congrats Tim! That is utterly amazing!
I actually just snagged a couple Whelan originals myself, obviously not nearly as impressive as yours, or many others here. One is a sketch adorning a comic of Roland (not even a Gunslinger comic, The Man With No Name #1, though that did inspire King's work so it does have some relation) and another is a larger poster board piece he did way back in the 70's, I haven't unpacked it yet though as it's rather large and I have nowhere to put.
Intentionally low definition...
Not in the frame and matting I want. Coming soon.
Awesome Tim, I like the second one the most. RF your's is great too. Someday may own an original.
I'm speechless, Tim. Congratulations! INCREDIBLE PIECES!

amazing-no doubt Whelan's work is amazing...Congrats!
Tim, Tim, Tim.....you KNOW I'm jealous! Simply stunning! Congrats and SO SO SO happy they are in your possession.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.

Oy! I like it!
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Perhaps not the most prized publication to have a Whelan original adorn it, but it's probably the only one of it's kind! A sketched copy of The Man With No Name with Roland Deschain on the cover by Michael Whelan, which really has no direct connection with The Dark Tower, however the films did inspire King in writing the series.
I think it's mighty cool at any rate, and am proud to have it in my collection. I have another Whelan original, a much larger piece, but I have yet to remove it from the packaging. Not sure what to do with it yet.
Very cool Theli! I like that drawing a lot. How did Michael end up drawing on that cover?

A quick note to everyone... Michael Whelan has no DT artwork left... That is what they are saying. The pieces he has.. he is keeping and will be passed down to his family (except for one last piece which has been secured). I sure hope he does another King book as I would love to have an opportunity at more. I am VERY thankful to have a few pieces of his on my wall. If you see a piece for sale... grab it... they won't last and the price will continue to climb!
