I am referring to the Shining edition from 1983...
I have a signed/dated edition from 1983 as well - 4/22/1983 - and the "3" looks VERY similar. The angle, the inflection, it all looks basically the same, as does the signature.
Also - both sigs have the 'period' at the end of the date.
The 4/22 is a little more cramped, but the pen is also different in both signatures...mine was likely a standard Bic type pen, and it looks like the above signature was with a finer-point.

Come on - it's totally fine. This is a case of overthinking it. Once it becomes "possibly" bad (especially when Bob weighed in), the ambivalence picks up steam. But it's a good sig - if this was in a different thread, nobody would be doubting it.

It has always been my thought (theory?) that King started crossing his 7s while he was living in England. I think that it is sort of a European writing trait. He and his family lived in England from Sept. through Dec. 1977. I have never seen a crossed 7 on a date earlier than 9/77 and almost all of his 7s are crossed from 1978 on.
I agree that the signature on The Stand pictured above is legit.

Some things I noticed were that "Stephen" breaks on the p. They wrote the first half of the name and then the last in two passes, or with a hesitation.
It looks like the same situation at the n in "King". "King" looks too much like King. It usually looks more like Knig. The top of the g doesn't come over and loop back as typically done. The small bottom loop on the g isn't typical for the time period.
I don't think he would have capitalized "For" or "Book".

Terrible pictures. $900 seems steep, but if it is legit, the price is not outrageous.
I wrote and told him his pictures are bad and asked for him to post better ones.
He has 25456 feedback so he should be capable of it.
