Rest assured I will NOT be purchasing either of these. I felt kind of silly even asking about that tigermew one because it does seem pretty obviously fake but I like to cover my bases whether it makes me look silly or not Thank you all for your input. Much appreciated!

Any thoughts on the above sig? I'm inclined to say it's real, and the price is good for it, but the seller references the other signed King book that he has listed (link below), which looks like total shit. Makes me wonder about the one I think is real.

Stephen King Mr. MERCEDES Signed Book HB/DJ 1ST EDITION
Yeah it looks like book club. Or those later printed copies that were larger than the original. Unfortunately someone posted it online as their pride and joy "first edition". At least the sig is real but it's not a first edition..
Another bad seller who seems to stay under the radar:

I'm the caretaker of Room 217..............I've always been the caretaker of Room 217
He's clever though, nowhere does it actually state it is signed BY Stephen King. Just that it is a signed Stephen King book. Subtle difference but important.
Oh and That Carrie is definitely a BCE. I have one just like it in a pile somewhere. Some poor fool has gone to the trouble of taking it to a signing thinking it was a first.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
All of the 1st edition identifiers are missing:
The Stand By Stephen King 1st Edition
This thread depresses me. Especially all the bad signatures. It is like a train wreck, I try to stay away, but I always come back for more.
2nd printing. Buyer beware:

I don't like it. The signature is huge.
