I agree with Designated Survivor. We've talked about it before, but it's hard for network TV to sustain themselves when they aren't procedural by nature.
As for Timeless, I'm still finding each episode enjoyable and refreshing. I could use a little bit more mythology, but it's a lot of fun.
That said, the best new (Network) show of the Fall is This is Us. By far.

Has anyone caught the preview for Emerald City? NBC doing 10 episodes.... (which they need to start learning is the way to go for a sustainable story as we have talked about before!!). Perhaps they are realizing that they need to do something... cause this is the freshest looking big network show I have seen since Lost....

Vikings started up again tonight. Just started it. Loved the intro music. I do enjoy the show.
Not sure if anyone is watching that 4 part alien invasion on CW? I simply don't like it. I'm also starting to dislike Arrow and Flash shows. Beyond repetitive. Flash has turned into a debacle with the "flash point" changing the time line where characters that were once liked, are now different and not as likable. Too many shows per season = lack of writing and poor development.
I'm gearing up for Taboo. I'm hoping this is as good as it looks. FX does a really good job.

I'm not a big fan of breaking the 4th wall. I don't mind it on sitcoms like Scrubs, but for House of Cards, it just annoyed me for some reason.

I tried House of Cards, too, after everybody and their mother was raving about it. It was a chore for me to watch. I usually give a series about 4 episodes (since that's usually the amount on a DVD) before I quit, but since Netflix seasons are short I watched the whole first season. It was not easy. I genuinely don't understand how people are so thrilled with/excited by it. I don't mind slow as long as the story goes somewhere, but it was brutal.

I love season 1 of Mad Men, but by the end of it's run I couldn't even watch it anymore.

With House of Cards, try the original miniseries. The plot progresses much faster, and Ian Richardson is fucking brilliant. I've enjoyed the remake, but I think it does help knowing where it's going when there is so much slow build-up.

If y'all are not watching Vice News Tonight on HBO, it's a must-watch. Tremendous 20-30 minutes each night.
