Ah, okay. If you're not digging it now, I'd say you probably won't like the rest. I really almost quit after the first episode, but am very glad I kept going. I actually really liked the monologues, but I can definitely see how you might not've. Have you gotten to Eleanor's yet? It's one of the best. I think it's called "The Bent-Neck Lady".

I hope this is the right place to ask this question and I alo hope there are folks here that can even take a stab at providing an answer, in whole or part. Anyway, here goes...............
I am a Directv (DTV) platinum subscriber, which means I should have access to all the content they have available (at least in my mind anyway). I also subscribe to the NFL & MLB packages. I don't know if this is also relevant, but I am also a Amazon Prime and Netflix customer. What I am having difficulty understanding is multi-faceted, but lets start here.
When I click my remote to begin watching TV/selecting content I have the following categories from which to choose under the "On Demand" DTV category.....
Directv on Demand
NBC
CBS
HBO
Showtime
Starz etc, etc.
Now, if I choose "Directv on demand" I get a lot of media (TV/film) genre selections & categories. However, when I select them very little actual content is available. So, I go to one of the network selections from the above list, HBO for instance and geta list of HBO series to choose from, but I'd estimate that only 50% are actually available for download and viewing. Those that aren't simply state that a search was conducted and nothing found. Sometimes, a network show can be found on the DTV choice but not the actual network category and vice versa. Yet, a lot of times I can go to Netflix and or Amazon and bimge away on a HBO, Starz or Showtime series with no problem what so ever.
I guess my question is why, when I am a paid subscriber of, HBO, Starz, etc must I search around to find the content, have it available to me or ultimately have to go to another service (Netflix) in order to watch older shows I have already paid for as part of my subscription? How does DTV legally get away with selling those shows to the streaming networks, but not provide them to actual subscribers? This happens a lot and maybe illustrates the issue better with movies. Here's a typical example of my dilemma/quandry.
A movie trilogy comes out from Hollywood, lets say "The Matrix" as an example. I don't go to see it in theaters, but I wait the 2-4 months for it to be debuted on HBO as HBO's monthly content offering per my paid subscription, I watch the film and am delighted (Yay!!). Now a year later, Matrix II comes out in theaters and again I wait to order it as a PPV, but I decide I want to catch up on the events from, Matrix I however even though that film came out a year earlier and I already paid for it they still now want $3.99 to watch that film again. Shouldn't Matrix I be available for free since I already paid for it.
Likewise, if I'm watching GoT and want to go back a few episodes to review why should I have to pay for those episodes again? There loads of instances similar to the ones I have tried to describe here. The really crazy thing is that in a lot of these instances I can go to Netflixor Amazon and access the show no problem. My point is I shouldn't have to, no? Access to all shows/movies that have been previously released by Directv/HBO should be readily available to me as a loyal customer, no? I shouldn't need to have Amazon/Netflix as a back up to my DTV service, right? Or am I nuts? Anyone have a handle on all of this that can explain it to me? I'd be very much obliged.
DirecTV might not have everything available on-demand that you'll find at each of the provider's own website. For instance, go to https://play.hbogo.com/ and log in with your DirecTV credentials. You'll have access to all of HBO's streaming content, kinda like Netflix. Same with Showtime, Starz, and really any channel that's in your DirecTV package. You just need to go to each channel's own site to stream the content. If you have a smart TV or something like a Roku or a Chromecast, then just download the channel apps and stream from those. The general DirecTV on-demand section is fairly limited and I never make use of it.
I don't think it answers any of your questions, but I can tell you that DirecTV is shit and I'm not sure why anyone would pay for it.

We've had it for years and have had no problems with it. You have to call them up and yell at them to lower your bill every couple of years but others than that, nothing major.
We very rarely loose signal when it rains. Sometimes in the winter I have to go out and dump some hot water on the dish to get the snow off of it but it's mounted on our deck right outside the back door, so it's not a big deal.

I have had it for 3 years and no problems. Lost signal maybe 3 times for 5 minutes for severe weather, which we get a lot of. Their DVR blows Comcast version out the water.

You guys, drop everything and watch Dead to Me on Netflix. It's amazing! I'm obsessed and cannot stop watching. Do not even watch trailers or read anything about it, if you're not hooked by the end of the first episode, I don't know what to tell you... And it just keeps getting better after that. At the end of episode four I audibly exclaimed "I cannot believe they did that!" I'm flabbergasted...
I watched the first episode on a Friday; downloaded the rest of the series to watch on my return flights on Monday.

No! Didn’t you notice an uptick in viewability once they dropped Tom? I hated everything that character brought to the show, and his presence ruined what little value there was in the character of Liz, who isn’t that great to begin with, but post-Tom hardass Liz is an improvement.
Reddington’s dialogue + Spader’s delivery = gold.
