Wow. That 999 is signed by King? I think that's rare because I was under the impression he did not sign that book. I think that's around the time he had his accident and was not able to sign the book.

BACK to my question before Alan tried to trick us all! ANYONE have info on how many King signed and why? Bob Jackson is unsure as well as a few others I asked. ANy help would be great!I do have a question for everyone. I know a few collectors have them... I just acquired one. Its the Dali picture from Don Quixote. I guess King signed these... anyone know how many?

Is there proof that's not a forgery? I'm trying to figure out why would King even sign it.
I know a few collectors that have a copy. I feel pretty solid in my knowledge and I do not believe this is fake. I asked others too. It is a bookplate too FYI

"It should be collectible as a King, but appears to be a reprint of a Dali. If you can buy it right, it definitely looks very cool !"

Thanks Mike. I am hoping for more insight on anyone that knows why he signed them. I know of at least 4 besides mine in other collectors hands. Just not sure why. Mine was in a 1st of Cujo, I think Bob's was in a Talisman... not the same books either.

The why, I don't know if my guy knows that. I would only guess that the character of Don Quixote was a man who has read so many books he decides to become is a Knight and he swore to protect the innocent and slay the wicked. Does that sound like a story and character in King's books?
Just a random guess on my part. Maybe King though the character had similar traits to Roland an maybe he was a little inspired by that story. Just a thought. By no means the definitive answer.
