Yeah, I do so often. No worries though, in our new house I have a huge workshop out back that will be reinvented into my mancave. She will be able to do with the interior of the house as she pleases.

I have a man cave but it's really just sitting on the toilet with the light off.

Help please?
Is there any way to tell if this sig is real or a reproduction (faux)...have you guys ever seen these "stickers" on the title page?
This is in an auction I am starting this weekend. Sorry the pic is so bad, I can try to get a better one if anyone needs it. Thanks so much.

I've never seen such a sticker before. I can't really tell if the signature is legitimate or not, but I tend toward the idea that it's not.
John
That's odd...I kind of thought it was common.
This is a book that was donated to me, I examined it very closely this morning and still can't tell if it is original or a reproduction.
Thanks for the input John

Can the donator provide any provenance as to the signature?

Spoiler:
That's a good idea, I'll ask him about it.
Not sure why I didn't think of it before.

When I say that type of sticker, I meant one with King's name printed underneath. I've never seen that.
John
Hmmmm...even more odd.
I really appreciate the opinions though, I'll let you guys know what I hear from the person who donated it.

Hi Guys, There was a seller recently named " bookopath" that was selling quite a few SK books with these stickers on it. I never bought one but they all ended at fairly reasonable prices...usually around 10.00 but the seller clearly stated that she thought the signature stickers were copies and not originals.
The following is copied and pasted from one of her auctions....
THE DARK TOWER VI – by Stephen King. Hardcover. First Trade Edition. Published by Donald M. Grant. 2004. Includes 10 Full Color illustrations by Darrel Anderson. Published price of $30.00 intact on inner jacket. Book is BRAND NEW condition (Never been read!) there is, however, some minor shelwear.
Included on the title page is a bookplate
SIGNED by author STEPHEN KING!!!!
I am QUITE CERTAIN that this bookplate is a COPY of one signed by Mr. King (NOT an actual “hand-signed” piece). I acquired several of these books – all with similar “signed” plates from an individual who works in the publishing industry. These books were probably sent by the publisher as "perks" to book critics.
Thanks so much Rusher, I pretty much thought the same.
I feel like a real signature would probably be a "no question" kind of thing on one of these.
And that makes total sense

Can anybody recommend a good book binder to do some repairs? I just purchased a pretty decent copy of The Bachman Books for a good price but the rear board has separated from the book. Also, how much does a repair like this cost (ballpark figure)?
Does Camelot Books engage in haggling?
Most of their books are reasonably priced, but theres a few I've been looking at lately that seem to be much higher than issue price without such a market existing. I've been half considering emailing to see if we can work out a deal, but have been worried that it'd be out of place.
Anyone have any first hand experience with them in this regard?
I've known Tony and Kim for over ten years and look forward to seeing
them soon at the Florida Antiquarian Book Fair. They are wonderful people and will work with you if they can. They do handle consignments and may not
have any room to bend. They often get good deals from publishers and often have "extras" to throw in like chapbooks and copies.
Call them and good luck.
Has anyone noticed just how hard it is to find the Dark Tower Viking editions in first printing, fine condition? I sold my only spare set to a fellow collector on these boards last year and am having a whale of a tough time replacing them. The hardest one to find is The Wastelands.
Someone once posted here, I think, that the first printings were limited to 40,000, which might explain a lot.
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
I rarely see them (and I visit a lot of used book stores). I managed to get a NF/NF 1st printing of The Gunslinger for under $20, but that's rare! I wish I would have just bought them off the shelf originally. At that time, having owned Grant editions, I thought it pointless. That's what I get for thinking!

I know that 40,000 number is right for the Gunslinger, and I'd assume it holds true for DTII - DTIV.
I think they have become so scarce for the same reason as the Grant edition of Wizard and Glass - only 40K and they went to bookstores, where the "constant reader" grabbed one and read it just hard enough to make it less than fine condition. The result? The same as W&G but on a lower scale - $50 minimum for a fine copy, but usually closer to $80+!
