    I say bullshit.
Prove you bought the 1/50 traycased edition first. Then prove you paid $250.

I believe Jeremy has made an excellent point here.

It has virtually nothing to do with King, and I think many collectors took a pass on this.

I passed on this when the publisher offered it, because there was no way I was going to pay $750 for a book that King contributed NO material for.

I bought my copy from Camelot in 2011 for $650.......$100 below publisher price.

I would not be surprised if Camelot has had the copy Kris just bought in their inventory for the last six years.

Yes, the deluxe is signed by King, maybe more importantly, it was the last thing Michael Crichton signed in his pseudonym John Lange. Crichton collectors have
been buying this book since it came out and that has added to its scarcity and somewhat rising price.

I read that elsewhere. They did not have this book long I was told AND it is not a PC but actual #. I wonder if they knew what they had? Either way it is on route to my grubby hands.

What would you pay for an Insert of USATODAY with original publication of Lucky Quarter? I saw one on Overlook for $40 and one on ebay for $500.

This is one of 3 short stories/first appearances that i am missing. I figure the other two i will never see.

    Thanks !

The print job was split among three different printers, as indicated on the copyright page, so there are three different states of the 1st for that reason. Then there's a mysterious fourth state that doesn't have any printer info on the CP, although all other 1st edition indicators are there. For that version, the DJ is flat -- no textured scales, but the ISBN matches the 1st. We've never had a solution to this particular mystery.

There is only one dust jacket for the 1st edition of Eyes of the Dragon. (3 printers) also I believe the 1st edition dust covers are the only ones with embossed scales.
