It's on-topic. We can talk about his "collection" of SK book title tattoos.

I'm not jealous but I have been thinking about getting some ink myself. Probably nothing to do with King though.

"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

'Salem's Lot is missing an apostrophe.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.

I noticed that, too, but a lot of the titles he lists are movie titles, and the initial apostrophe is omitted there.

Want to know the group's thoughts on this copy of The Shining that I recently bought for $350 shipped.

    How did I do?

This copy sold for $506 shipped, and seems comparable (although this one has a small rip on DJ....mine does not).

This copy sold for $604 shipped and also seems comparable. My book also has the "speckling" to the the bottom of the page block like this one does.

Not thrilled about the speckling....as it was not pictured or described in the auction.

I think you got a very nice copy at a very good price. The speckling on the bottom page edges is a remainder mark and is pretty common for this book.

I think you got burned. Best thing to do is send it to me. I'll give you $351 (shipped) and you will sleep better at night.

    Thanks guys.

This copy sold by a member here for $300.....also has the speckling....and am glad Bob confirmed the "remainder spray"....something I have not heard of....but now that I have seen three copies with it, I guess it is pretty common as Bob stated.

I came to put in an offer on the book I bought mostly because the same seller was selling a really nice Gunslinger 1st with a BEST OFFER option (same with The Shining). Thinking t would make my offer on The Gunslinger look better, I also put in an offer on The Shining. Well, the Gunslinger sold for full price (it was a very reasonable price, and I should have just bought it), and the seller ended up taking me up on my offer on The Shinning.

The copy that RF sent me with a DJ that I bought from him also had that speckling. I thought it was from a project he was experimenting with is the reason it had it lol. Cool info to find out. Might be an interesting tidbit to add to the catalogue. Do any other King books have the remainder speckling?

Edit: I see Rick was already on it .
