Yes, and I think there are 4, or maybe 5 on here who have this. Also, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon has 15 Lettered copies.
And, you don't have a complete collection of S/Ls until you have all of these...

Here's a question for all y'all: What Stephen King book would you consider to be the best investment?
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King
The Plant has returned 849900% (using an initial cost of $1 as it was a gift). The Whitney My Pretty Pony, the S/L TGWLTG and the Lettered Masques sell at or below issue.
I suppose I should clarify. What is one book you expect to appreciate in value the most from this point forward that would not be considered an exorbitant purchase?
I think it would be foolish to spend money on any S/L today in hopes of selling it for a profit in the future. In the long run, I think your best bet would be sticking with the early Doubleday books. I could picture The Shining, Salem's Lot, or Carrie being worth thousands in fifty years.
If Hard Case Crime publishes any more King books in the future, and the S/L's are priced like Joyland was? Then I would say that's the best bet.
That being said, there's no indication that they have anything in the works, but they seemed very underpriced last time around.
The early Doubledays will increase nicely.
The Gunslinger 1st, the finer the condition the better.
There are several editions that have issues, so pristine copies will increase in value. e.g., Firestarter, Danse Macabre, The Eyes of the Dragon, The Cycle of the Werewolf(HB) all have issues with their dustjackets.
All of the Bachman books seem to keep increasing in price.
"One day you're going to figure out that everything they taught you was a lie."
Rage. Find one in NF condition. It will likely double in 5 years.
On the short term.. it might not be a bad idea to pick up any version of IT. When the movie comes out prices will likely increase. If you are looking to make an opportunity sale.
Because of the issues with the spine a little loose, what would be the right price for this copy of The Shining?

No much more than it's listed for-if even that.
Thanks RF. Still looking for the right copy. At that price, this isn't it.
