Does anyone know which periodical this was originally published in? I'm assuming the Maine Campus, but not entirely sure.

Is it something that is relatively obtainable? I think it would be quite nice framed is all.
"A real limited edition, far from being an expensive autograph stapled to a novel, is a treasure. And like all treasures do, it transforms the responsible owner into a caretaker, and being a caretaker of something as fragile and easily destroyed as ideas and images is not a bad thing but a good one...and so is the re-evaluation of what books are and what they do that necessarily follows." - Stephen King

The first 'graph says "the Campus learned last week," which would indicate the article was written for the Maine Campus.

Yeah, a bit more googling has confirmed it was in the Maine Campus Newspaper around 1974. I guess finding a surviving copy would be pretty hard. I'd be interested to know if anyone has one though. (It was reported Gerald has one in his shop, but he doesn't frequent these parts these days).

I need to ship a few books, and am picking up boxes today, but I’m not able to get home first to check dimensions.

Could someone provide the size of the FAB8 S/L, The Stand S/L, or the IT Gift Edition? Thanks!

$4 million for the paperback rights according to the article! A nice haul either way.

So, is there another author working that has the number of books in limited, numbered, or gift/special editions as King?

Good question. I would hazard a guess and say King has the most, but this may just be confirmation bias, as the primary thing I'm searching for is King books. (e.g., you look for red cars, you see all the red cars).

This is a long shot, but thought I'd throw it to the collector canons here.

With all this talk of red lettered EOTD, I have this copy. It's number 966 but it's unique in that it's also inscribed to a "Bob" who King "missed the first time around". Anyone want to hazard a guess at who this Bob could probably be?? Some artist possibly, given King's reference to "drawing" in the inscription?

Bob from Twin Peaks. He gets around.
I'm sure if there is intelligent life somewhere out there in the universe, they are wise enough to stay away from us.

Koontz has quite a few, especially if you go back to the Dark Harvest editions of his pseudonym Leigh Nichols? He is the only one I can see challenging King since he is just as prolific.

Koontz has over 30 Charnel House S/L, plus an equivalent number of lettereds, as well as a S/Ls from Cemetery Dance and Dark Harvest, plus a ton of S/Ls in anthologies. My guess is King has more, but Koontz is a close second?

I was comparing my 2 copies of Dolan's Cadillac 1/250. To my surprise, I find that one copy had gray endpapers and the other white! I wonder which is the more common binding?
