$7.25 at my local corner store. Average for (SW) Washington State is around $6.50-ish
I have no room to bitch as a continue to purchase them.

When two fit, it makes you think
I got the cute one, my woman
She says, "Lovin's all I bring"
And it's her loving that's a wonderful thing.
Lovin' yes we are, it's such a wonderful thing
When two fit it makes you think
See us both in the black
She lays on me so relaxed.

True Story: I smoke...yeah, I know. So I'm out behind my place of work - well away from the exits - smoking. There is a southern baptist convention in town so I'm already in a good mood - so many people to piss off!

This (easily) 350lb woman waddles by me, stops, gives me a disgusted look and (I knew it was coming)....tells me "I am so sick and tired of walking around through all the unhealthy clouds of smoke in this town. You know that Jesus doesn't like it when you smoke don't you?"

I looked her up and down and said something like "Well, first off, you can't seriously expect me to believe that you care about your health can you? And since we're talking about Jesus today, how do you think he feels when he spots your big ass waddling up to the buffet?".

She hmmmph'ed me and told me she'd pray for me and rolled on away.

I also wonder if it's payback for my smoking that the stench of perfumes and colognes make me violently ill.

    i hate that.

i only ever smoke in designated smoking areas well away from exits or doors.

it's not my fault if you decide to walk by as i'm smoking, so please do me the favour of not giving the fake little cough or shooting me dirty looks or any of the other superior self-righteous things that non-smokers do.

cigs are 3.36 for me here in south carolina...of course that's basic's with the 75 cent coupon..but still, beats the hell out of 6.50!

and about the people bitching bout smoke thing, i usually just laugh and agree with them. at first they feel like they accomplished something, then when they think about it as they leave, they realize that i was being a smartass. at least i hope thats the effect haha

I merely put my smoke out and beat them to death. Then I use my 2 second nicotine withdrawal as a temporary insanity defense.

Oooooo, sj - first of all *ginormous wolfhug*

When I smoked and people would do that, I always said

Wow, you should get that cough looked into.
Depending on how evil I felt I might add
I smoke and I don't even have that.

    A winner is you.
I'm 18 and I've been smoking for about a year and a half. Started off with Marlboro and now I like camel wides, as they're cheaper and less harsh.

I used to hate it wehn people smoked around me, but when its you who's smoking it, it feels completely different. I am, of course, courtious. When people ask me not to smoke around them, I don't. But, I can't stand when I'm outside smoking and someone starts bitching about it. Especially if the wind is blowing. I only smoke outside, and I'm in Kansas, so the wind is usually blowing, so its no biggie. Untill someone complains. then I get angry, and tell them where they can go, using as many epithets as possible.

I also smoke and we have only had non smoking pubs in England for about two years. Bars dont smell of smoke anymore they smell worse especially the student places I drink in

That said I can understand why it was banned but if your partner smokes as well you spend most of the night passing the cig baton!

I dont know why I still smoke. Most of my friends who started smoking at the same time as me have stopped but I have carried on.

    I now want a cig.

Well... I smoke too. Many years already. I quited once but started over again. How stupid is that!? I smoke "red brands" like red Marlboro - the stronger stuff generally.

i have been a smoker since i was 18. stopped smoking twice. both times for nine months. some of these bans remind me of times in our history that other items were banned or just ignored like prohibition and when women used to use the back door of a salon to get hair color because you didn't color your hair unless you were a street worker(hint hint). i smoke at home and so does my hubby. we get all kinds of hell from his parents and brother who don't smoke. we listen and nod our collective heads. when we get home after being at his brother's house for like 6 hours we light up and sigh in delight.

What does everyone think about the craziness that is banning clove + other flavored cigarettes? I was pretty shocked when I heard about that. The first time I smoked anything was a clove cigarette, but it was legally at 18, so I don't think it counts toward the whole "yummy cigarettes to tempt kids" argument. I had just wanted to try it, like anything else that was restricted as a kid (drinking, pron, etc), but didn't want it bad enough to sneak around and do it early.

I think that the idea that flavored cigarettes somehow tempt people to smoke more than regular ones is plain ridiculous. Smirnoff Ice and wine coolers will always be legal, and I think those are way more common 'yummy' underage introductions to regulated substances.

[Disclaimer: I'm one of those weirdos that can get away with only smoking when visiting with chainsmoking friends...like, a couple times a month. I did used to have about 4 unfiltered Lucky Strikes a day.]

the other thing I heard or i should say read about is the major price hike in roll-your-own tobacco. Our newly elected prez decided to tax this tobacco 2000%. the tax used to be 1.25 or something in that area and now it is taxed 25.00. but lucky for those that do use the said tobacco can now buy it in pipe form. the producers of the roll-your-own have taken the product and are reselling it as pipe tobacco now.

I have never heard of clove cigs what are they like?

I agree it seems ridiculous to say they encourage smoking. It seems to me some people do and some dont and I have no idea why. My Other half smokes but his parents never have.

They stink to high heaven if you ask me but they're not as unpleasant to smell as a regular cigarette. The closest thing I can liken it to would be pipe tobacco which is a grave insult to pipe tobacco but I can't think of a better comparison. Its kind of a sickening smell to me. But I love pipe tobacco. I actually smoke a pipe now and then.
