i have one on order - initially i got it from amazon - but cancelled that and ordered through TFAW.com - things from another world - i get all of my comics/graphic novels from there and they have a pre-order sale at $60 - and i trust their shipping better than amazon - and it was close to the amazon price - and cheaper that subpress.

looks like a limitation of 3000 - so they will be around awhile

Same with me. Amazon has been doing a lot better lately with books. They shrinkwrap the book to a larger piece of cardboard then put it in a bigger box. Haven't had any damaged items from them in a while.

my mine reason was the $15 discount plus shipping to uk was only $7!

(Much as I prefer to support the small press companies when I can, its been an expensive year so far!)

I do tend to throw my money towards tfaw - since they've done a really good job getting the signed books in that I want. Plus if I preorder from them I know I'll be getting the book - vs if amazon oversold the number of copies they were receiving.

TFAW usually doesn't have as good enough a discount as some other (comic book) sites do. However, I wasn't aware that they also carried books (signed or otherwise)! Do you pay once you place an order, or when the order ships?

Pay upon shipment - nothing up front. - but they don't like you to cancel pre-orders - since that's what they base their stock on. Usually pre-orders are about 20-30% savings - typically 20%. Cheap graphic novels is the best - but you gotta be quick and check the site once books are released.

Is there any interest in either the signed numbered of A Little Gold Book of Ghastly Stuff or a signed copy of American Gods 10th Anniversary Edition (It's a little banged up) from William Morrow?

We were out of town and today on our way out of town found a signed 1st/1st (the one of 5,000.) of American Gods for very cheap.
It looks real good. I have one so I picked it up to pass on. Anyone interested?

I'm taking it home to clean up and brodart the cover.

I'll take all reasonable offers in through Sunday if anyone is interested.
I can email pics after I clean it up and check it out.

I think it's unfortunate that Easton is producing these Gaiman titles in what I call their "Generic" style. i.e. nothing unique or extra about both the inside, and the outside design gold stamping. This is when I usually pass on an Easton title (although, I DID buy American Gods- because I'm a sucker for that book and have the "Every Edition, Damnit!" bug about it). They produce a lot of books this way, and it draws a huge yawn from me. I MUCH prefer when they do a little something with them, like they do with their "Collector's" line, or like the Horror Classics a few years back- where they include illustrations (or, at least a color frontispiece), introductions, and, especially- proprietary gold cover stamping that is relevant to the book. Like they just did with their SILENCE OF THE LAMBS in the "Reader's Choice" line. That goes a long way with the esthetics. Nothing extra in the book proper, but a nice color frontis, and a knockout Butterfly Motif all around the cover and spine. It looks GREAT on the shelf.

These "generic" editions, while "nice"- hey, they're signed and bound in leather- but, they just don't move the needle.

I agree, they dont really appeal compared to some of the other special editions available. 2nd hand sales seem to suggest they hold their price though, so probably not too risky an investment.

Also, they did confirm on Twitter this is the extended text, not the original, so that is something.

For now though, I will stick with the rather nice William Morrow edition :-)
