But I wanted to ask - did anybody play Myst, Riven, or Exile?
I played Myst back on Windows 3.1, and Riven on Windows 95, but never got around to the third entry.

I think I still have my Myst cd-rom in a drawer somewhere.
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.
I bought the 3 pack this past school year, installed it, played non-stop for 3 days and then removed it from my computer because I was getting nothing done. I should take it back out now that it's summer.

It took me about an hour and 20 minutes, but I took that sumbitch down. For the last %5 of his health, I sneaked up behind him through some bushes and proceeded to give him the coup de grace' in the form of a shotgun blast to the FACE. It was immensely satisfying.

I am a HUGE fan of all of these games... I have all 5 of them (6 if you count to D'Ni) I am current working on the final game... Myst V - End of Ages.
These games are great... challenging, that's for certain... but they are great for people who love puzzle solving types of games.

I beat Myst and Riven, but never even started Exile. Way to go Odetta!
I really enjoy these games - the kind where you need a notebook along the way to write down clues and such. Way cool.
Thanks! What makes this guy so hard to beat is not that he shoots like crazy, it's just the opposite in fact. He jumps around from vantage point to vantage point each time he's discovered, and the only time he fires at you is when he has you all lined up, and then the shot he fires usually hits you for some pretty massive damage. I'll see if I can find a short clip on youtube so that you guys can see what I was up against.
My bf was telling me about that guy.. in MGS3... he explained his method for beating him.. but he said it takes a long time.

Yeah, you have to use this IR microphone that enhances sound and detects motion, (you could also use thermal goggles to try and seek out the heat that his body is emitting) then after you find him, you have to sneak up on him without making a sound or he'll pinpoint your location with the quickness and fire at you. It's a very tedious process, but that feeling of accomplishment at the end is well worth the effort
