I still can't get over the fact that we're getting Bloodlines 2. The original is a masterpiece and might be one of the best games ever made.
I'm playing the Resident Evil 2 remake. Excellent atmosphere and sound design. I played the original a million times but they added just enough here to keep it fresh and intense.
I just replayed Black Flag again. I didn't enjoy it as much the second time. The first time I played it, it felt to have a lot more freedom than it actually does. It's still fun to sail the seas, but the combat outside of the ship stuff feels really dull. It made me long for the original game, which I remember being quite difficult, and climbing stuff actually required some strategy. And it made me long for the epic tombs and such from Revelations (still my favourite of the series, I think). But what Black Flag does have going for it is a great story with a title character who really stands out compared to other lead characters before him. And that ending still gets to me and is one of my favourite endings in any game. Edward Kenway really does grow as a character over the course the game, something which can't be said for the characters before him. Ezio grows quite a bit, but it takes three games, and I'd argue Edward's arc is more poignant.
The modern day stuff is pretty shoehorned in and doesn't really go anywhere, but I imagine that plotline continues more in Rogue and Unity which I haven't played yet. I'll play them eventually. But I'm really regretting trading in the original Assassin's Creed now. I want to play it really bad. I'll have to find a copy of it online.

Steam often has the older Assassin's Creed games on sale for around 7-8 bucks. Well worth it.
For me Black Flag is the pinnacle of the AC series. I lost interest after that.
Have you tried Origins yet?
Not yet, I gave up on AC - I don't really care for them without the overarching modern day story to tie them all together. And it seems like Ubisoft essentially abandoned that.
You say that like I can use Steam lol.
Black Flag was the last Assassin's Creed I played. I don't have a current gen system yet.
I'm finishing by Darksiders 2 right now. I'm not sure why I just stopped playing it like a year and a half ago, but I did. I hate picking a game back up when you're a good deal into it and you have to re-learn all the mechanics and minutiae up against the more challenging enemies.

I didn't know you're a Darksiders fan Matt. I love that series. I've 100%'d all 3 of them.
I didn't play the first, though I'd like to one day, the third one too. It was free on Xbox a few years ago and I picked it up. Discovered some good games that way, like Dust: An Elysian Tale and Dishonored.
I just went through a walkthrough before the final boss to get all the collectibles... Got everything but missed 3 Stone Bites... Really hope one isn't in The Arbiters Maze. Just played that the other day and getting all the chests took me 6 fucking hours.

A beautiful and great game, a huge tragedy, and big respect to Ubisoft for doing this.In light of the devastating fire at the Notre Dame de Paris, Ubisoft wants to give all gamers the chance to experience the majesty and beauty of the cathedral through Assassins Creed Unity on PC.
From April 17th at 10:00 am to April 25th at 03:00 am (your local time). you can download Assassins Creed Unity on PC for free here, and you’ll own it forever in your Uplay games library.
We encourage all of you who want to help with the restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral to join Ubisoft in donating.
Anyone else here play Hollow Knight? I'm a big sucker for 2D Side Scrollers with great level design and art direction. I can play these kinda games for hours and hours on end.
Yes sir. Bought it on my switch for $10 around Xmas. Terribly addictive
I’m sure you’re already aware, but Cave Story is a pretty fun scroller as well. And of course Ori
Also, if you haven’t played Inside yet, immediately rectify that. Takes about 5 hours and its simplicity is genius. Plus, it’s a horror story so it’s on brand for us
Just finished the final episode of the final season of The Walking Dead. Cried my eyes out. But a good ending.
