My backlog is big since the disc reader on my xbox finally went a few months back after I stocked up on games. I just can't wait to finally play Fallout 4, FF15, and Skyrim.

Yeah,at the rate I'm going I'll probably only get around to playing 4-5 games a year. I need to be extremely picky about what I pick up.
Oh, I still buy games. This is especially true for retro stuff. I figure I can put it on a shelf and I will play it... some day... when I retire or something.
If I could cut down on my TV/Movie watching, I could fit in more time for gaming. It never seems to happen though.

I really should finish replaying Chrono Cross, FF8, and FF7 on my brother in law's PS3 so I can give it back to him. In a month or so when I get my XboxOne I probably won't touch it.

This looks incredible:
So I got myself all the Assassin's Creed games that are out there (for the record, there are 10 mainline games plus an 11th three-part side-scroller called "Chronicles" which I also got) on a whim. I played the original when it first came out, now about a decade ago, and I'm well into it now again. I forgot how great this game was! Sure it gets repetitive a little but the world feels alive and for a ten year old game it looks gorgeous. I plan on going through all of these in order, that should be fun if overwhelming. Aparently the next game in the series will take place in Ancient Egypt and Ancient Greece. Sweet.
I've played all the AC games, with the exception of Syndicate. I fully realize that they're repetitive as hell, but I enjoy every task in these games, no matter how menial. It doesn't hurt that the art direction is often gorgeous, and the upgrading system is addicting as hell. Plus, I'm a huge sucker for collectibles.
Syndicate is the last one, number ten, so I'll get to it... eventually. But it looks fantastic. I installed all ten games and played a bit of each. Apparently you can free-roam pretty much the entire Victorian London in that one. Can't wait!
A prequel trilogy? God damn Ubisoft is greedy lol.
I think I'll revisit the series once they commence the trilogy that takes place chronologically toward the end, bringing the series to a close. Sometime in 2022, I suppose.
I'm playing through all the games now, and it's great. Started AC2 a few days ago. This new one sounds very cool.
I'm now a little into AC Brotherhood, the third in the series (the numbering in AC is crazy, AC3 is actually the 5th game and AC4 is the 7th). It's so good, that cliffhanger ending in AC2 with Desmond saying "What the fuck" was exactly my sentiment. Love how Brotherhood picks right back up at the same point, yet it's a new game. Sort of like a Season Three of a TV show.
And Far Cry fans here? I'm really looking forward to the release of 5 in February.

I finally started Horizon: Zero Dawn. I must say, I'm absolutely loving the game so far. I love the atmosphere and the art direction. The controls and gameplay are solid. I can't wait to dig deeper into this one. It has a little bit of everything. The climbing/platforming reminds me of Uncharted. The free roam environment reminds me of Assassin's Creed. The scavenging/crafting reminds me of The Last of Us.
So far the story isn't on par with the games listed above, but it's still early. Either way, this is a welcome addition to the Sony exclusive family.

This game looked really interesting to me as well when it came out. I almost pulled the trigger and purchased it the other day. Sounds like something I could get into. I'm looking forward hearing more from you about it
I'm currently playing The Rise of Tomb Raider which seems to be an Uncharted knockoff really. I'm still really enjoying it though.

I'm just looking forward to playing it again.
My current work schedule has me relagated to just playing on the weekends unfortunately. You know how it is when you get a new great game or you start reading a great book. You can't put it down!
All I've been thinking about at work is diving back into that world. I'll be sure to post my thoughts as I journey along.

My kid brother let me borrow his Metal Gear Solid V copy, so I'll be diving into that at some point over the weekend I'm sure.
Horizon Dawn always interested me, I just never took the $$ plunge. Maybe I'll ask you let me borrow your copy at some point Mike lol.
I've played all the Far Cry's except Primal but the new one sounds pretty controversial:
"When it arrives next February, Far Cry 5 will unfold in a small town in Montana, where a religious cult tinged with American survivalism has emerged. (Think the Bundys, though no shortage of legalese will doubtless back away from that comparison.) You’ll play a young police officer, a man or a woman, depending on your decision, and you’ll be tasked with (ugh) taking this slice of America back."
Also just found the free Dishonored 2 demo on Steam - first 3 episodes. So now I know it will play on my "old" computer may just have to get the whole game.
I'm not sure if you saw my thoughts on Metal Gear Solid 5 a few pages back.
My thoughts on MG5
In short, I enjoyed the game, but they were far too ambitious with it. Just stick to stealth and action. We don't need a recruitment system, we don't need a base building mechanic. We certainly don't need online MP. The worst part is you can literally see where Konami starting messing with Kojima. If they left him alone, it could have been a masterpiece.

I really enjoyed FC 4 but after only a few hours in to Primal, I was done. I probably is a good game; just shows I'm too much into gunplay I reckon. I agree about FC 5 but it looks really good and more realistic if you will. This stuff has or can happen here as history has shown. Of course the game will take it to the next level as games will do. But who wouldn't have fun taking down a bunch of religious zealots!
