Yeah, I saw a few copies at a flea market the other day, but they wanted 40 bucks.
I found some good deals at GameStop recently. 5 bucks for Fallout 3 and 10 bucks for Red Dead Redemption.

Wait wait wait wait wait ...
you've never played Fallout 3 or Red Dead Redemption?
I've played them over my friend's house on his XBOX, but I never played them all the way through. RDR has been on my playlist forever. Fallout 3 never really appealed to me. Open world games in general seem daunting to me sometimes. Unless it's GTA, which I love.

I'm glad it's not just me. I think my ideal games are those that have an open world, but have enough of a strong focus on story to give a good sense of direction, even if you want to wonder off and have some fun for a bit. It's why I enjoy BioWare games like Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect (the latter of which I'm still making my way through, but definitely liked what I've played so far). It's why I'm also enjoying GTAV: so far, there's not just great gameplay, there's also a good story with really cool characters, which can really help with a sense of immersion in a game.

Beat Batman Arkham City on new game plus the other day. Now I'm just working through the really hard trophies to get. Things like perfect free flow 2.0 which requires using all gadgets and fight moves in one combo. Also trying to get the 50X combo.
Anybody play Batman: Arkham Origin, is it any good?
Oh, I've played a fair bit of Red Dead Redemption, and it's great, but it's definitely one of those games I can only come back to every once in a while. It is brilliant, though. Played some of Fallout 3, before my laptop went bust. That was pretty good from what I've played.

I'm planning on playing them...GOL!
My love for the Western genre makes it pretty impossible for me not to love Red Dead Redemption. I'm currently one trophy away from a Ratchet & Clank: Into Nexus platinum. I'm just coming off of a Sly Cooper Thieves In Time platinum. I'm also working on Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance for the GameCube. Love that franchise.
Up next is Bioshock Infinite. After that, I may jump into RDR.

I just picked up bioshock infinite for free through playstation plus. Also grabbed saints row 3 I think and the devil may cry reboot. One thing that sucks is if I let playstation plus run out I think I lose the games meaning I still have them on my system but I can't play them. When I had Xbox live gold I grabbed a few game and im still able to play them even though I don't have gold any more.
I love ps plus, though. I only recently got a ps3, but I am happy to pay $7 a month and get to play all the games I grab from plus.
Also, in reference to your question about Arkham Origins......I think you will probably like it if you liked City. For some reason it just hasn't held my attention, though. I think that may be more because I just have a lot of games to play right now.
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.
I'll have to check out origins. Also with playstation plus I got it for free for a year which runs out in April I think because my ex brother in law worked at GameStop as a manager so he got a free year of plus. Since he didn't have a playstation at the time he gave it to me.
It's a question I wrestled with for a very, very long time, believe me. I've gone over this countless times in my head.
It's funny because they're both similar in structure and narrative, but there's just something about the city of Colombia and the steampunk aesthetic that gives Infinite that little extra for me. Both are phenomenal games though and deserve every single accolade they've received.
Also, I am extremely susceptible to stories of redemption, especially if said story is told in sci-fi format lol.
this looks great

On the Bioshock Infinite discussion: like you Fernando, the American steampunk aesthetic really helped drew me in to it. I've been playing BioShock 1, and it's good, it's really good, but Infinite definitely appeals to me more, and it's partly because of its very different world.

any thoughts?
Actually, a lot people have told me that Infinite and Last of Us share some themes and feel. From what you guys are saying, Infinite has a major theme of redemption. I fell that Last of Us also somewhat has a story of redemption. I won't spoil it, but if you've played it, you understand. Looking forward to diving into Infinite.

i don't agree with the whole play to play, i take it that its monthly that you have to pay
Yep. $15 a month. MMOs that have a subscription are almost always better games that free to play MMOs, though. The free to play MMOs just tend to inundate you with attempted cash grabs via cash shop stuff and are usually filled with assholes and trolls moreso than subscription games. There are some exceptions to this, but they are rare.

i don't play Guild Wars, but from what I've seen you just buy the game or expansion pack then its free to play
Guild Wars 2 has lock boxes in the game that drop like crazy and can only be opened with keys bought with real cash.
These companies get their monthly money somehow. Some are more intrusive than others. GW2 is less intrusive than many, but it still has it's f2p annoyances.

GW2 and The Secret World are tow buy to play (buy the game and then it is yours with no monthly fee) that I play, but they can still be annoying sometimes.
