Have any of you guys tried Gamefly?

I haven't, but I have a couple of friends online that have and they've had nothing but good things to say about it. It's essentially a Netflix for video games. What's cool is that if you rent games through them, and you decide you want to purchase one of them, they'll give it to you at a discount.

I signed up with them over the weekend. It is just like Netflix. They have two options, you can have one game at a time for $15 a month or two games for $23 a month. And they do offer a pretty good discount if you choose to purchase the game.

I should be getting my first game tomorrow.

Considering good RC cars cost several hundred dollars, what kind of loss are you expecting them to take here? They are obviously making a profit. I would say this car doens't cost them more than 20 dollars to produce, they're selling it with a 200% mark up and people will buy it. Not sure why. You could get another new game for the price of this shitty RC car. It's like those Wal-Mart night vision goggles they were peddling for MW2. Waste of money.

Ive personally used night vision technology in the woods that makes nightime look as good as daylight. And I mean seeing for miles plus 20x as many stars in the sky. My mom's boyfriend was actually Spec Ops and knows just about everything was it comes to the military. He laughed when I brought up these MW2 goggles to him last year and he pulled out his Starlight scope. It was over ten years old and back then cost over 3,000 dollars.

While the goggles work as advertised, I don't see anyone using these to stalk people or animals or sneak around in the dark. They're a toy. A fun toy, but still a toy.

The main draw for getting these should be the way they look on your desk. Mounted on the head, the goggles look pretty neat, though not real.

Perhaps it would have been better for Activision to go with non-functioning goggles that look authentic, rather than one that function on a toy level, but don't really look that real.

The goggles work by using a screen, so you're not actually looking through the lenses. It isn't true night vision in the slightest, it's nothing more than video camera that doesn't record with night shot on. I can do the same thing with my Sony Handycam.


And I'm not being negative. As someone who doesn't have an extra 70 dollars to waste on toy night vision goggles or RC cars, it's a matter of principle. I simply do not see the point. If you want to collect things, collect. But you can't justify the extra money for the purchase on any other reason than 'just to have'. As a monney concious consumer, I look for quality and practical, not aesthetic value. Sure that look nice are great to have but I agree with the quote above. They should have been realistic props, instead of trying to make them work. They were made by Jakks Pacific, the same company that makes WWE Action Figures. They aren't exactly at the forefront of night vision technology.

If I'm going to spend my money on an extra edition, let it be something like Alan Wake which I bought. Cost 100 dollars incl tax. It came with about 144 page hardcover book which actually added to the story of the game with FBI dossiers related to the events of the game and a short story written by the character of the game, soundtrack CD, a disc full of behind the scenes documentaries, making of and a whole whack of stuff like that, free Xbox themes and avatar items, free DLC download code as well as exclusive video commentary during gameplay if you turn it on and it came in a nice little case that looks like a hardcover book. Not to mention it's one of the greatest games of the decade.



You do realise it's people that go and buy these editions they make the most money off of, right? They add a 20 dollar toy and jack the price up 70 dollars.

I'll be just fine with my regular, barebones version of Black Ops. It has the game in it, all I need.



Now this is a Special Edition I would get, considering it's not much more than the regular game.

Bethesda is releasing a Fallout: New Vegas package worth squirreling away in your bomb shelter. The Collector's Edition includes a bunch of goodies modeled after items found in the game, including a set of seven casino chips representing casinos from the game, a special "Lucky 38 platinum chip," a deck of cards with New Vegas character imagery ("Use the cards to play poker, blackjack or Caravan, an original card game that was created by Obsidian especially for New Vegas!").

A hardcover graphic novel, "All Roads," written by Obsidian creative director Chris Avellone, and a making-of DVD are also included in the package

Now there is one worth getting. A functioning deck of cards, a graphic novel and a making of DVD. Much like Alan Wake, these guys took the time to create original fiction for their edition. As opposed to a novelty toy.

Not much respect for activision when it comes to quality collectors editions.


And, while you have spiffy night vision goggles... I got this instead.

I saved over 150 USD with my purchase. Well, realistically, elite has a 120 gb harddrive and a headset so I saved more like 80 dollars or so but my xbox is MW2 decked out on top of that.

In regards to modern warfare 2, I'm almost done my 7th prestige. Been really enjoying my M420, simply mowing people down it. I stopped using stopping power and probably will never go back, there is only the odd time where it makes a difference and painkiller is usually involved.

LOL people hate me when I use my riot shield. Went 12-3 in SnD with it the other day. This one guy said my winning was in FFA (I'm master of FFA) a fluke and he would beat me next game...so I told him I would only use my riot shield and still win and my score was 30-13 in a scrap yard FFA lol. Usually when I go riot shield people say I suck and I'm a noob. I did my ENTIRE 3rd prestige using only a riot shield. So I've gotten pretty good with it. Much like how I played FFA for about a week using only Throwing Knives and nothing else and I was still winning haha. Most people can only hit a throwing knife if they are close and lined right up, where as I actually take the time to hold in the bumper and aim it. My personal favourite Throwing Knife kill was in Terminal from where the spawn is in Sabotage to the other side of the terminal by Burger Town, that entire back section, end to end. Was epic.

They aren't night vision goggles. You are looking at a screen, not through the goggles. Night vision goggles cost thousands of dollars. Not toy night vision, which are made in a toy factory in China. To say they are a little novelty item is fine. But to try and say they are actual night vision goggles is just silly.

in other news, i hadn't played COD in several months, while i lived with my ex-gf and left the ps3 alone. well turns out, she would let her little cousin come and play it while i was at work or gone. i got on yesterday and to my surprise, my k/d ratio is .73 and my classes are destroyed.

i mean i have never been a great player like titovilla or stillservant, but i mean i was better than .73! and all my classes, my perfectly thought up classes...gone.
