AFAIK, it’s a pretty common practice in MLB. I remember seeing a lot of players with pine tar smeared on their helmets. Manny Ramirez, Vlad Guerrero, Orlando Cabrera and Darrin Erstad are a few off the top of my head.

Unless they’ve changed the rule recently.
Hearts are tough, she said, most times hearts don't break, and I'm sure that's right . . . but what about then? What about who we were then? What about hearts in Atlantis?

Perhaps I am getting things confused wit the league I played in when I was a younger man. Just city leagues. I tested a lot of rules. I even told the ump once that I mastyrbated a lot that's why there was a "substance" on the ball from my hands... he didn't buy it I was removed from the game. As the 2nd baseman, I was about the last resort for a pitcher too. It took almost a decade to live that one down.

Pretty good WS this year. I would love to see the Royals take it all this year however both teams are great.

Time to ramp up some Tiger roars! Where are all the Tiger fans? I'm very anxious to see what the offense can do this year and hopeful Verlander can be serviceable. It feels like he is on the edge of Linecum land so my fingers are certainly crossed.

I'm very optimistic that they can win another division. I'm curious about their pitching staff all the way around but with Price and Sanchez (if healthy) they should be okay. I am more excited to see how their offense looks. It seems like they have an extremly dangerous line-up but time will tell on that one. Sometimes new faces do not mix with the old. Either way it is Baseball season again!

Agree. I think they will win the division. I think the Indians had a year where everything broke right. Bradley had a career year and Kluber pitched out of his mind. I'd be surprised if both of them duplicate their 2014 seasons.

When is Victor Martinez expected to be back?

That one hurts. Saunders is unfortunate, but it doesn't kill you.

Stroman really hurts. I think this means Daniel Norris will have a clear shot of winning a rotation spot. He's polished and I think he's ready.

There is video everywhere if you Google it, but it was about what you would expect from a middle-aged non-athlete. AFAIK, he didn't field anything in the infield. He managed to cleanly field a couple of hits in the outfield, although he was a little slow getting to one and basically turned a double into a triple.

He struck out in his 2 AB's but did manage 1 foul tip. He pitched 1/3 of an inning and the batter bunted the first pitch right back to him. He was a catcher for one batter and it was an intentional walk.

He came out of the dugout once for,in his words: "The worst curtain call in the history of baseball". It looks like everyone involved had a good time with it and it was for a good cause.

Norris will probably be an early season call up. I can see him staying fresh in Duneeden or AA or AAA for a few weeks. Sanchez and Estrada will probably get into the rotation first, but they have a lot of decisions to still make...we don't even know who is closing yet. If there is any time for Ricky Romero to suddenly become a major league guy again, this is it haha

I haven't seen it yet, but I did hear that John Madden, yes John Madden, really tore into the whole thing. It was for a good cause, I'm not sure what his problem was, but I'm also wondering why anybody is asking John Madden about such things. The man has been off the grid for the most part, not sure who dug him up.
