Heather, how is I Capture the Castle? I haven't heard of it before.
I have a copy of ''Never Let Me Go'', but I haven't seen it. Now, I decided to watch it first.
I really enjoyed it. I'd recommend it.
And let me know what you think of Never Let Me Go. It's a little slow in certain places, but I thought it was really good. I especially loved the parts where they were children.

I really enjoyed it! It was a little slow at the beginning, but then started to pick up. It was really interesting in that it portrayed a side of life that we rarely get to see, exploring some pretty strong themes of family relations, (suggested) incest, and the power with which gossip spreads and its effect on family safety. I'd recommend it. It's a pretty strong and emotionally-driven film. Plus, Jennifer Lawrence gave a totally Oscar-worthy performance as the main character.

Cool. So (I'm hoping) you gave it 4/5 on the Rate thread just accidentally. Understandable, given that you were in the midst of an Angry German Kid moment.
Well what happens is that I write my review then after I read Eberts. He's really intelligent when it comes to film and opened up the movie so much to me. It's a fanastic review and if you liked the movie you should read it. The entire movie itself is a metaphor for Eastwood and the western genre and to me, makes the movie more fascinating. Before my reviews vanished (grr) I ended in saying, "This movie is missing something that I just can't put my finger on" and Ebert helped me realize it was there I just didn't see it. On a second watch I'll be able to appreciate what I missed. I can never really judge a movie properly until the subsequent viewing as sometimes I'm too busy simply intaking the movie rather than looking into the movie.

How was Creep?
And what'd you think of Pi? I loved that one.
Only the gentle are ever really strong.
Creep was okay. The acting wasn't fantastic, but it was pretty suspenseful and overall just a fun movie.
Pi, on the other hand, made me feel like I was going insane watching it! The quick cuts, and the grainy black and white, plus the subject matter...I felt a little dizzy.It was alright though, just a little too slow paced. It kind of reminded me of Nolan's Following.

Concerning the two "battle LA" ones, the first is the campy/crappy Sci-fi channel version of the theatrical release. We caught in on a late night television channel search and, well...it was amusing. I can at least say that.
Needless to say, we absolutely had to check out the real version the next day, just to compare.
