Painted Desert - Marc Ribot/Robert Quine/Ikue Mori
Much of this entire album screams Dark Tower to me. It's definitely "Western" music from some other world.

I have no faith in human perfectability. I think that human exertion will have no appreciable effect upon humanity. Man is now only more active - not more happy - nor more wise, than he was 6000 years ago. - Edgar Allan Poe
Bunch together a group of people deliberately chosen for strong religious feelings, and you have a practical guarantee of dark morbidities expressed in crime, perversion, and insanity. - H.P. Lovecraft

For a Few Guitars More - Various Artists
2002, Dancing Bear Records
As the name implies, this album is a tribute to the work of the great Italian composer Ennio Morricone, specifically his compositions for the "Spaghetti Western" films. This compilation is made up of mostly surf-rock style covers of some classic Morricone pieces, though there are some other styles at work as well.
Thats a really cool lookin cover.

It sure is.
"Big in Japan" by Tom Waits
Great song! Waits is a master of achieving interesting percussion sounds and that song exemplifies it greatly. That whole album is a masterpiece (except maybe the song "Pony" which I just cannot stand).
Haha. I don't mind "Pony", but it's not my favorite song either.
Bone Machine is really awesome, too.
Bone Machine is awesome, you are right.
Both are right at the top of my list, which is topped by Rain Dogs (which is atop most people's lists). It's not only my top TW album, but my top album by anyone. There are not really any TW albums I don't like, just some I listen to more than others.
