That is a really haunting piece, Tommy. And reading about on Wikipedia makes it even more so.
It's never left me since I first heard it. There's four parts to it. Heartbreaking but somehow a sad, brilliant resistance can emerge if listened to in the right state of mind.
Besides The Disintegration Loops, Basinski also does amazing ambient music. Love him! He's going to be at Moogfest this year along with The Field and Gas. Three acts I desperately would love to hear live but can't afford it this year. Plus, I'm just too old now.
