Thanks Nick and Becca. It must still be too early, I guess. I get plenty of emails from the Library of Congress, but nothing related to the book festival.

I attended the Joe Hill talk and signing last night....saw Chris and Lori there (tre cool!!!!) and Karen French + hubby as well. Joe was at the top of his game....smart, witty, funny, everything I hope for. Took my daughter with me. We had such a great time. Books were presigned, but you could take them after the show and get them personalized (which my daughter and I did). I also got a rare magazine short story signed "The Black Telephone" which Joe was thrilled to see saying I haven't seen this publication in a very very long time.
3+ hour drive home and had to go straight to work at my other job with no sleep. Still 3 hours to go on my shift here...gotta run...BYE...
Dragline : Nothin'. A handful of nothin'. You stupid mullet head. He beat you with nothin'. Just like today when he kept comin' back at me - with nothin'.
Luke : Yeah, well, sometimes nothin' can be a real cool hand.
What publication was the Black a Telephone in?
I'm seeing him Saturday night in MN!
issue #39 of The Third Alternative

Thanks!!
Met Joe Hill in Minneapolis on Saturday night. The turnout was not very large but he was very funny. In his question and answer session-a few of the questions were strange but...
I had him sign my Palace Corbie and The Best of Palace Corbie. The Best of Palace Corbie is extremely hard to find. He commented that the story in there "The Lady Rests" was not good-trash in his words. He commented that he had not seen these two books ever. He would have signed as many books as you had but the limit was three at a time.
I got a photo of my wife, Joe and myself together.
All in all a great time.
Next stop" Stephen King on June 23 in Iowa City.
Glad you had fun...LOVE Joe Hill....funny his memory is not perfect...I shipped him Best of Palace Corbie with his 1st published story "The Lady Rests" in 2014 and he signed it for me, along with a copy of chapbook Surrealist Glass. He told me these were the only two copies he had ever signed.

very interesting! He was signing and taking photos with many people and I was lucky enough to be #20 or less in line otherwise I would have been there a while.
I should have brought more items for him to sign however!
Going to be a crazy, fun 22 days coming up.

Had quite a blast last night. My wife and I met Patrick, his lovely date, Racerx45, Lovejoygirl14, and her brother.
Despite terrible traffic, Joe showed up on time:
Joe did a ~15 miunte reading from The Fireman involving a snowball fight.
Joe then wanted to sing a couple of songs. Joe wanted to do the songs on an accordion, but said he could never get the hang of the instrument. Joe said as this was the next to last stop, he was running short on Kazoos, and only had two. He asked for volunteers, and I stood up quickly, raised my hand and said "ME SIR!". Joe said no way...
then relented as he felt I looked the part.
He also chose Lovejoygirl14.
Joe shows a Northern California person how to light up a bowl:
Beginning instructions:
Starting the first song. It's a campfire diddly sung to the tune oh "Hey Jude". Everyone had a good laugh as we had the kazoos turned the wrong way:
After the first song, Joe said we could invite someone else on stage. My wife hung her head and tried to disappear, so I told Joe that my "partner" was Patrick. Joe calls him "out":
More to follow.

Haha love the pics, guys. Looking good!!
I'm excited about seeing Joe for my first time in Glasgow and Edinburgh next month.
Joe liked my Halligan...
Just got back from Portland Powell's "Joe Hill Fireman event".
It was a lot of fun and was able to get the rest of my Joe Hill library signed + a few extras.
I will post pictures later, not much new to see (pretty much the same as all the other stops on this tour)

There are more pics and more stories in the Joe Hill thread.

Lol
It was a good Joe Hill night for me
I had six items signed, 4 keepers and 2 duplicates.
(I have an extra "Stories" if anybody's interested,) he doodled it with the devil.
This is Powell's Portland, Oregon (from Joe Hill's Twitter cam)
This is Joe describing one of his greatest fears... getting hit in the face with a flying bat while riding his motorcycle, needless to say it was pretty damn funny
This is me asking him to sign my 1st printing "Better than Home" on the 1st page instead of the front cover.
