I want to chime in on the color a bit - it's too bring for me too. It looks very orange to me and sort of hurts my eyes.

Mine was too bright also - sort of started to seem like it was glowing after a while. But on my monitor I have a "color tone" setting in the menu and I changed it from "normal" to "cool" and now it is much more tolerable.
