Short story collection by one of my faves:
Spoiler:
The Cuckoo's Calling by Robert Galbraith (JK Rowling). I'm about 60 pages in and it's pretty good so far. I like it MUCH more than The Casual Vacancy.
John
Ghost in The Shell and Appleseed by Masamune Shirow
Echoes of Betrayal by Elizabeth Moon
There's one hole in every revolution, large or small. And it's one word long.. people. No matter how big the idea they all stand under, people are small and weak and cheap and frightened. It's people that kill every revolution.

Slippin' Into Darkness by Norman Partridge
This is the second book I'm reading by this author, and I love his writing style.
Hell House - Richard Matheson
Audiobook: Psycho - Robert Bloch
Lucius Shepard - The Ends of the Earth
Dan Simmons - The Crook Factory. This could have been one of my favourite Simmons novels. His research is unparalled. Problem is he likes to show it all off and it bogs the story down a bit.

holding my breath... it is a book so few people liked, let alone loved...

"Southern Cross the Dog" by Bill Cheng. Interesting style. I haven't quite decided if I like it. Cheng is an Asian-American from New York who apparently had never set foot in Mississippi before writing this book which is described as "southern gothic."

We'll see, Bears. Only a few pages in, but so far not so good; I don't like the Fred/George/Random Name thing. But the two Bachman's I've read, I loved. So there's still hope. Of course, those two were written before Carrie and a lot of why they hit me so hard was the relevant themes to young adults. I'll let ya know when I finish.
somehow I feel this one will not be a huge success...

As long as your not judging. We all have different taste palates, and to each his or her own, right?
Plus tastes change every seven years or so I'm told.
