I was working on Richard Matheson's "I am Legend", but I felt like if he referred to his main character by first and last name one more time, I was going to scream. Right now, I'm reading Ellis' "American Psycho"... WOW! That's all I have to say about this book right now. just wow. I'll get back to "I am Legend" when I'm done. I just wanted to take a break from it, I suppose.

I never even noticed that about I Am Legend. The story is way too good. American Psycho is a good one too.

Just finished Dolores Claiborne by Stephen King.

Am still reading Romulan War - I think it's by Martin.

Also still trying to read Madness of Angels (don't know who it's written about)

and am re-reading the first Emily the Strange book (YAAAAAAAAAAAAY!)

Hope to be reading soon Red Pyramid by Riordan.

So many books.. so little time.

I rushed through the Mars series a few years ago... can hardly remember a thing. I'd go back to it in the future.
On the second Harry Potter book now... kinda childish but easy to read in short bursts, which suits me at the moment. I must have seen parts of the first movie as I knew who the 'Big Bad' was before the end of the first book. I'm in completely unspoiled territory now and like how Rowling seems to be weaving the threads of a much bigger tapestry.

Okay, I'm just going to throw this out there...I've read a LOT of adolescent lit (English major LOL) and of all the stuff I've read, I have to say the HP series is one of the LEAST obvious pieces of ad. lit. I've ever read.

IMHO, it appeals to young and old, specifically because Rowling doesn't "talk down" to her readers, which is what I like.

    Just my two cents.
