Michael Fassbender as Roland would be a good choice. Good actor with excellent intensity, fits the description down to the blue eyes.

I had never even thought about Michael Fassbender. I'd have to agree with you.

IDK, I'm not sure if I could get the robot from "Prometheus" out of my head. Lately, he just seems to be playing the same role. Maybe it's just me.

    You mean Andy the robot?

When I hear "Andy" I think of this man.

Which makes me think of this woman.

    And she says to Andy

"Annnnndy!! There are seeds in my marijuana!! You are a cop for Christ sake and you can't get me a better count than this??? Do I have to move to Colorado??!!??

Fassbender has been getting over exposed in recent years, making too many movies, so that is an issue. I still like the selection though, as I think he is a good actor and could portray the emotional side of the character.

I expect Fassbender will be in the prometheus sequel as well. I personally enjoyed the movie, but it has some issues. It was thought provoking.

Javier Bardem, who was attached to the project in previous and failed production attempts, doesn't fit the books description of Roland, but he would do a fantastic job as well I expect.

    Arthur Heath,

I did this list off of your list.

Roland Deschain – Javier Bardem. He's hard. He just embodies him.

Eddie Dean – Aaron Paul- Played Jessie Pinkman on Breaking Bad

Odetta (Susannah) Holmes– Zoe Kravitz (but it's still a Zoe!) I just think she can nail both "parts" really well.

Jake Chambers – Chandler Riggs- Plays Carl in The Walking Dead

Susan Delgado – Amanda Seyfried- Hot too!

Randall Flagg (The Man in Black) – Gabriel Byrne or Christopher Walken

These 2 I have no opinion on and think your choices are just fine.

Alain Johns – Charlie Hunnam - Sons of Anarchy TV show.

Cuthbert Allgood – Joseph Gordon Levitt - Looks familiar, though cant tell you why.

Default I started writing my own soundtrack to the books

    Hello,

I can't really find a relevant topic for this so i'll just ask one of you regulars.

I've just written some music for books 1-3 and i'm trying to spread to the word a little, reaching out to Dark Tower fans for some feedback on the project.

If anyone is interested you can listen here: https://soundcloud.com/wesley_roskel...ower-books-1-3

Please let me know the best place to post this where I can discuss with fans their feelings on the tracks.

    Thanks everyone!

    not my first choice ,

for me he is to glamorous and not enough "stressed" if you know what i mean. A roland should transport the feeling that he was on the road for a long time, very painful life, a lot of suffering.
You need somebody who represents that more. imho.

The idea to have a black roland is interesting - they would have to bypass the whole conflict with delta walker, what would be doable i think even if this was a very important part of her character, so it would be very sad to loose that conflict in the character
but they will have to cut out a lot of stuff so why not that.

Even thou i would see Roland more a Denzel Washington in Book of Eli type of guy, then Idris Elba.

Have you seen LUTHER -- he is the epitome of stressed, world-weary in that role.

nope not seen yet , just searched him in the image search, and i guess that are mostly Luther pics.
Still , no match for me. Others might disagree - its hard to complete with what you have in mind while reading -

Maybe thats because he wears suits in all pics, not sure
Maybe its because i had Bardem as the perfect choice for me and once "seen" its hard to unsee again.

But at the end thats a really 1WP - i mean i would take Kevin James if that means they make that movie.
So hey, its Idris Elba welcome on board, take a seat and get that baby started ;D
