Like the guy who designed the mapping system and gets him and the biologist lost. WTF? Or the touchy biologist who has to run and touch everything. Why? I don't understand the idea of making people stupid in horror type movies. I know there are deleted scenes out there that make more sense of the stupidity of the characters, but why leave it out or even make them idiotic in the first place? They are supposed to be scientists, therefore, intelligent people. Then again, what would we do if we were in that type of situation? I personally would hope I would run the hell out of there. I did really like the movie from Fassbeneder and Rapace as they did a great job. I understand the plot holes as long as they will be fulfilled in the second movie which is rumored to be made relatively soon. We will see as a whole what happens.
The idea was always to do two movies. For almost two years before it was titled 'Prometheus' imdb had two movies listed under Ridley Scott: Untitled Alien Prequel #1, Untitled Alien Prequel #2.

My review of Kinsmen or Kingsman or something about men: The Special Service or, Social Services or Customer Service, whatever, who cares YOU'LL SEE IT!

This movie looks so bad. How many 'seemingly ordinary young people who are really special beneath being seemingly ordinary get thrust into a hidden world of espionage, mysticism and action and through said espionage, mysticism and action the seemingly ordinary young person becomes the super special savior/assassin/magician/monk/agent/wizard/porn star/etc they were destined to be' movies do we need?

Colin Firth wears a hat and says funny things because it's in a british accent. Stuff happens and eventually the credits show up...I don't know I haven't seen it.

I'd rather choke to death on a rutabaga than sit through this movie...and rutabagas are massive.

Worst movie I've never seen. Go see it. You know you want to see four more of them.

That's not fair, Matt. I think Kingsman looks like a fun film. You can't be close-minded to think that just because a premise has been done before the film is automatically bad. All the Bond films are all pretty much the same but there are some really good films in the franchise. Kingsman is pretty much Bond for a new generation.

If it's not your thing, fine but don't trash it. Especially if you haven't even seen it. I know you're not really a fan of action films, but I love them. I think this film has a chance to be a solid action film. Matthew Vaughn is a good director. I've liked all of his films. X-Men First Class was very good, Kick-Ass was awesome, Stardust is an underrated fantasy film and Layer Cake is solid as well.

I think it's hysterical. To write a revue and never see the movie. I love it! I think I have to see the movie when it comes to blu ray just to see if you are right. It'd be classic if you were. Now, if you would have done this type of revue for "50 Shades of Grey," I'm sure you'd be dead on. Happy Valentine's Day!!!

I was channelling this part from South Park: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdD3hSW1UpM It was all hyperbolic for satire. This was more a joke on so many movies that are just like this. To me it's just Avengers (not Marvel's Avengers) mixed with Wanted and James Bond. I have no problem with Matthew Vaughn. I just think the movie looks hokey and not in an appealing way because it's so obviously trying to be hokey in an appealing way. And I like action movies it's just so many these days don't interest me much. Kingsman seems like it thinks it's different but to me it's just the same thing we've seen before with a different colour bow on it.

Saw Birdman and The Imitation Game tonight and they were both great.

Sat through an hour of Kingsman as I hopped from one film to the next and it wasn't too bad, but I also wasn't too worried about walking out of it

Haven't seen Kingsman yet so I can't rate it but you did watch it alongside two of the better films from last year, might be better than it appears but pales beside great films like those two maybe?

well I didn't see the whole thing, only the first hour. It was typical Matthew Vaughan, stylized, aimed at younger audience, lots of cool action, not bad at all really. But proclaiming it the new Bond, I dunno, lol. I sure want to see Spectre a lot more than I wanted to finish Kingsman.

I have enjoyed most of Vaughan's films and think he is a technically effective director. But from what I saw of the film it was bubblegum. Interesting, entertaining, but not the first film id pony up $11 for

    Stretch.

Went into it not expecting much, but man oh man was this a great movie. Five out of five, and Chris Pine's best performance to date. I would honestly put him in the same category as Brad Pitt's Tyler Durden.

    Watch it now.

I think that's on Netflix for instant stream. I think it's funny how Chris Pine is listed as "uncredited" for that film.

Apparently he was doing the role as a favor to the director or something. Such a shame, he was fantastic.

It's nice to see some movies that you never hear about get some recognition. I saw "Stretch" and I was surprised that it was a good movie. It was nice to see a movie that had an interesting story. It did get a bit farfetched as the movie went on, but I did enjoy it. 6/10 for me. A friend of mine was pushing me to see "I Origins," 6/10, and I finally saw that too. Way better then I thought it was going to be. Another movie I didn't expect to like and I enjoyed the controversy between science and religion.

For the church scene alone, Kingsman: The Secret Service is worth seeing. There are several other delights here: seeing Colin Firth as an action hero, Samuel L. Jackson steals every scene he is in as a fantastically amusing villain, the young newcomer Taron Egerton carries his weight well against several seasoned pros, the music is cool, the set-pieces are knockouts, the stylized violence/action is both funny and exhilarating and the whole thing ends with a bit of anal sex, who could ask for more?

I realize this isn't Kubrick, Ozu, Bresson, Bergman, Kurosawa, Dreyer, Fellini, Murnau, Buñuel, Lang, Tarkovsky, Welles, Scorsese, Godard, Malle, Haneke, Fassbinder, Pasolin, Herzog, Kieslowski, Malick, Altman or Hitchcock, all some of my favorite directors, but what it is is a lot of fun and we all have a 14 year old boy somewhere within our psyches that needs to cut loose and have fun every now and then.

Thank you! Nice review. Sometimes that's all I'm looking for. In this case, that's what a I'm paying to see.

I think Vaughn has a lot of talent as a director. I really enjoyed Kick-Ass as an over-the-top action film. I'm expecting much of the same for Kingsman.

You guys are talking about Chris Pine and I was searching for newer horror movies, stupid I know, but found "Carriers" from 2009. Chris Pine is in it. Movie about a disease killing almost all the population and Chris with 3 people go looking for a cure. ANOTHER survivor type movie with people vs. people and people vs. virus. Chris was good in it, but I didn't like it much. 3/10 I'm guessing is appropriate.
Talking about diseases, awhile ago I saw "Contagion" with Matt Damon. 7/10. The reason why I liked the movie so much was not the redundant complaint from me that people will never ban together and work together for the common good as they never will, but because it was a virus that killed off so many people. I'm not a tree huger, but, people really are a problem on this planet as they surely are not taking care of it. Remember, if people never existed, the planet would still be here and if the planet never existed people would never have existed. I love movies about thinning the population.

Carriers was just eh. Could have been better.

I think my favorite Pine performance is in Unstoppable with Denzel Washington. The most interesting part about Contagion is how it showed how fast a disease like that can spread around the world. Really interesting/scary stuff.
