Right. Even though they're not entirely great, the DT comics so far have at least had new info. I may or may not feel bored when they turn to adaptation of The Gunslinger. As I said on other threads, it'll really make a difference whether they add plenty of extras for us.
With The Talisman, I'm into it anyway, because, as a far-out fantasy novel, it has a potential for frequently interesting artwork that The Stand does not. Similarly, Eyes of the Dragon would make a good comic book series.
I did but not voluntarily. My comic book shop closed down

I kinda lost interest after Captain Trips.
It'll probably be something I pick up again later.

I've totally lost track of where this one is headed. Since I didn't like the book that inspired the comics, I guess that's no wonder.
I love the Stand comics! Great, great stuff. better than the book
Wow! Better than the book, hunh?!
I don't think they're better than the book, but I do think they're very good.
I agree they're unfolding slowly, but the book is huge and the comics seem to be follwing faithfully, so I'm not surprised at that. I don't mind having to wait for the story to build.

I have a question about "The Stand American Nightmares HardCover." There are two versions of it. I already have the one with Larry riding his motorcycle on it. The other cover (I think it is the illustrator's version) I ordered from Barne's&Noble and they said that the release date was pushed back.
I looked on another comic website and it said that it had limited availability. I took out a 30 day extension hoping that Barne's&Noble will get it in.
Does anybody have or know anything about The Stand American Nightmares isbn#9780785136217?

That's a good question.
I don't see that it was ever actually published.
Amazon is showing it as Out of Print, however.
My comic shop shows only the one you already have.
Interesting.

Pam,
I just purchased a Limited Variant Edition of American Nightmares from a seller on Ebay. According to him they were only sold to specialty shops if they purchased 98 of the regular hardcovers.
The cover he had posted looks like the cover of Variant Issue # 3.
I won't know the true details until I get it. I'll post a pic. The seller I purchased it from is a ebay Merchant with 100% feedback so hopefully he knows what he is talking about. (Hopefully.)
Do you have any info on this variant?
Life is a garden...dig it!
Hmmmm. Very interesting.
I checked two of my local shops, and neither of them had heard of it. My online comic shop doesn't list it as available to add to a "want list".
I'll check around some more, though.
98 GNs is a huge number for most comic shops. I'm sure there aren't many of them out there.
And now ... I have something new to search for!
Yes, please post a pic when you get it.
Does it look like this ?

Wow. I'm intrigued... and not just a little jealous.
The pic I posted was the one that Amazon had listed as "unavailable" ... and I only found that with the ISBN number you listed.
That looks super cool. And now - I want one!

I'm hoping that he used the actual cover of the book and not a random picture. I guess I will find out soon enough. Keep your fingers crossed.

Sounds like an awesome find and I'll be sure to add it to our check-list when I next update ( coming soon ).
Can't wait to see what you got. Congrats.

Interesting! I guess I'll have to start haunting eBay, ABE, etc. I know my comics store won't be getting any.

Oh, well, I'm very sorry. That stinks.
I mean, I'm glad you got your money back, but well, you know what I mean.
I haven't found anything that shows a variant cover was ever published.

John
I'm prepping an update to the Comics Check List, and I will leave off this "ghost" variant until I can find something that shows it actually exists!
Thanks, everyone, for your help.

Did anybody get The Stand: No Man's Land first issue. I saw on Heavy Ink and Stephen King's website that it is supposed to be out on Feb 2. I went to my comic and they did not have it. Did this release get held up?
