Very cool - good work!
But - I have to say it about Martin...that is one weak-ass signature.
Where would they hold this in South Portland?
I could make a reasonable guess.
There's a Barnes and Noble in South Portland, specifically - that would be my guess.
EDIT: Oops...
Once in Bookstore we only stood in line, after he signed the other books for us he asked if we wanted the Dictor Sleep books signed.cceven at one per person if he's offering to sign more in not going...
Also - I agree with Tippy. It's definitley "neat" to go to a signing and get a book signed by him as you personally witness it.
But as he said you aren't "meeting" him. The two signings I've been...
Ahh, He's a Red Sux fan so not very interesting beyond his books. Now, Derek Jeter is a guy I would like to meet!! LOL
I'm not sure SK's Sox fandom is the extent of his personality.

Sticks fingers down throat. :)
You're just mad because you really don't know clouds at all.
So weird how some events are huge, and others are really low-key.
People are paying $200 for tix to one event, but when he was at the JFK Library, signed books weren't even all sold...there...
Pfff....it's not a signing if you don't get a book signed. So how do you enjoy it for what it is, if it isn't anything?
I agree that you roll the dice, and play the game and whatever happens,...
Yeah, that's true too, about long lines of people, etc...nothing will be perfect, but I guess I just don't like the random nature of it.
But - like you say, for $40, you're getting a book, plus...
Agree - not even for the potential for shenanigans, but just because it's a silly way of doing it.
You can say random is "fair," but I'd be pretty raw if the people in front or back of me got a...
I went to the Harvard signing in 2006 for Best Short Stories, at the same venue.
Someone posted that it seats 805? That night he signed for everybody in the building (who waited) and I always...
I would bet like 99.9 that if you show up to an event you'll get a book...I doubt very much he'd stop signing at 400 when they know 600 people will be there...especially after he signed well until...
So I went to the Dan Brown signing abt 10 days ago - 500 people! He signed/inscribed basically however you wanted.
I have my own blog where I write about stuff like this, so go there for the full...
Dan Brown is doing an Exeter, NH signing on June 14....love him or hate him, his appearances are pretty rare (although signed books are nothing special price-wise).
In 2004, he inscribed any book...
Haha - yeah, not even a $1000 gets you a signed book.
I bet they already have a couple $25K donors, though. It's a college thing, not a "fan" thing. No different than a big school with athletic...
Wow - given that it's an hour from me, I would consider a $500 ticket if I could bring my own book. Maybe even at the $1K level.
But $1000 for the "opportunity" to have a picture and a pre-signed...
Totally right - but I didn't want to BUY a normal book, when I already had an ARC. But I didn't want to be rude and ask him to sign if I wasn't going to actually spend money...
And really, I was...
I was all fired-up to go to the Ports. event...but long day at work, and I didn't want to 1. buy a book since I have an ARC and 2. ask him to sign the ARC without buying a book...
I suppose I...
I am halfway through..and less than thrilled...hopefully the last half (really just 1/6 of the trilogy) will leave me wanting to wait 2 years.
It will not...it actually wraps up in a way...
