Mattrick, it was already made into a movie by Akira Kurosawa back in the 50's. Unfortunately it was not very good, and this is coming from someone who LOVES Kurosawa's work.

It only works if the movie takes place during that time period and in that area of the world. Otherwise, it lessens the horror of the actuality. That's just my opinion though.

But you didn't see it all at the same time. Wonderful movie and I fully agree with your assessment.

Just keep this in mind candy Blind Fury was, itself, as remake of the Japanese Zatoichi film...

Avatar is one of those films that loses a LOT of the spectacle when it's tralsated to the small screen, which only shows the weakness of the story itself.
