Will begin Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness today, after which I'll finally get to Mountains of Madness Revealed. This is a collection of shorts, released by PS Publishing, edited by Darrell...
Discovered Stephen Donaldson, and his Thomas Covenant Chronicles, way back in the late '70s - and I was floored! Loved the trilogy in spite of the fact it was not an easy read and Thomas Covenant...
McCammon's best, imo.
Enjoy!!

It's good - one of McCammon's best (together with Boy's life - which is better.)
But it's not as good as some claim it is - like superior to king's The Stand.
Enjoy!!

King recommended November Road, by Lou Berney. Now I did follow his advice before, and hated that particular title (forgot which one it was...), but I'll give this a go.
First finishing The Outsider...
Sort of, I guess. The book mixes fiction with biographical facts from the lives of Charles Dickens and fellow author (and friend) Wilkie Collins - plus other historical and literary figures of the...
I really liked it, very much so. The book includes four short novellas, focusing on the darker side of human nature. Plenty of opportunity for some lively discussions!

It doesnt.... A very bland book for me.
Loved it! One of the better McCammons imo.

Speaking of McCammon - reading The Listener and loving it! I was so terribly disappointed with his previous novel, The Border, right from the very first sentence: The Boy who was running ran into the...
Didn't like it the first time I read it. The second reading was a totally different experience: loved the book.
I finished to McCammons' this week: Mine and Gone South. Both started out great - and...
Love Blue World - a very underrated collection of short stories.
But then, McCammon is an underrated author.
Unfortunately.
He's not as good as King (no one is), but when he's good, he's awesome...
I didn't like The Deep. I haven't read The Troop.
In spite of King's recommendation: stay away. One of the least engaging, most boring books I've ever read.

Just finished Mr. Mercedes - a re-read.
Love this book.
On to Finders Keepers - which I have not read before.

I went through a phase in high school where I must have read 20-30 Agatha Christie novels. I didn't think The Mysterious Affair at Styles was one of the best, but if you like it, be sure and read...
Loved that book: my #1 McCammon.

Great book! Don't forget the sequels. Not as impressive, but still worth reading for sure.

One of Simmons' best!
You'll love it, Kris.

Received this book as part of a Cemetery Dance grab-bag: I absolutely love it.
And apparently it's the first of a trilogy?...
One of McCammon's very best! It's a huge book, but you'll love it.
I hope.
