Just started Holly - very early, but very promising thus far.
The Terror is brilliant - not the best by Simmons, but it's up there. My heat still belongs to the Hyperion quartet.
So far behind in my reading, but now that school is over I'm diving into Fairy Tale - about 1/3 in so far. Enjoying it.
After finishing "Elevation" - loved it - I have finally gotten around to Later. I have about 40 pages left - a really good read so far.
Have you read it before, Eric? If not, it's a great book.[/QUOTE]
Yes, absolutely, it's a thrilling read.
Finally got around to If It Bleeds. I just finished the third novella, the one with Holly. I have really enjoyed all three so far. I kind of feel like Holly's story is made up of some excised...
If you have never read Weaveworld you are in for a treat!
A group of high school juniors I teach read this for book club last spring and really enjoyed it, as did I.
I finally got around to reading/finishing The Outsider. I loved it. Yes, it felt like two separate narratives, but it really worked for me. The subject matter of the first half was pretty dark for...
I have a group of juniors in my English class that are engaged in book clubs right now, so I have four books going at once.
Luckily I am rereading The Long Walk (SK) and Good Omens (Neil Gaiman...
Reading John Gardner's, Grendel. Loving it. I have not read an existentialist novel is some time.
Finally getting around to reading Doctor Sleep. Pretty good so far.
I think that you will love Boy's Life - one of my favorites.
Lee Child - No Go Back. Loving the book, as I do with all Jack Reacher novels. Just saw the trailer with Tom Cruise - less than enthused.
I know I am late to this one, but I just started Finders Keepers over vacation last week. Nearly done. I'm enjoying it quite a bit, and I look forward to reading the final book in the trilogy soon.
Loved Heart-Shaped Box - it was so visceral. It reminded me of early King. NOS4A2 is superbly epic, but there really is something about a first novel that gets the juices going. Horns is also...
Yeah, Dan Simmons can wear you out. What did you think of Ilium? I loved it, and its sequel, Olympos. At some point you should get a copy of Muse of Fire - wonderful space novella by Simmons. How...

Yeah, Song of Kali really went in a few completely different directions then I thought it would, which was a plus for me! Very heart-wrenching but ultimately somewhat positive at the...
I loved Song of Kali - so heart wrenching! Summer of Night was tremendous. If you liked it as much as I did you should go find a copy of the Roadkill Press "Banished Dreams," which is a portion of...
Plowed through a bunch of books with my high schoolers at the end the year - they do book clubs, which means I gotta read them all! Luckily, I was rereading some of them.
Juniors: Cat's Cradle...
Finished Mr. Mercedes - liked it, didn't love it. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Just started novel by Jo Nesbo called The Redbreast. I am about 70 pages in and its pretty good...
